Kindness
It costs nothing does it, kindness that is ..
So why do so many avoid, or ignore it
and act like they are pulling their own teeth ..
Absent Friends
I notice there are
red berries
on the trees again
this autumn
and in such great
abundance ..
But no wax-wings
to cull them
nor any squirrels,
bullfinches,
or other rodents ..
Last winter,
was hard on them
too my love ..

Something melancholy about this write - a bit in touch with my mood this awful cold wet windy morning - enjoyed it none the less.
You noticed, thank you Michael .. I hope you feel better very soon .. Neville
What a punch π₯! If the were edible berries thatβs where youβd find me staining my garments and all! Chances are Iβd have chosen white or something pastelly to boot!
I reckon that's just a red herring .. ππ
Herring bone pattern, perhaps!
Once again, I find the two poems somewhat related. It seems that even winter has a hard time being kind.
.. Cheers sb ππ
I fed KP those berries - dunno if they were poisonous. lol.
You need to start behaving or I'll dob you in
I'm a sneaky little rodent! lol. For the umpteenth time - why do some say they are hamsters in my pic? If so, giant ones. They could be in a film: 'Return of the Giant Hamsters'. Eek!
Kindness seems to be in short supply, for sure and those poor liβl πΏοΈ πΏοΈ These poems ring true, hauntingly so, and fit the mood of approaching winter. π₯Ά Well done, Neville! Love it! πΉπ
Thanks mate that's very kind of you & very insightful too .. ππ
Youβre welcome!
Dis merrily makes up for yesterday's lack in tendering one fer Friday and one fer Saturday. Many thanks. The selfish state of affairs would leave all out in the cold except the LORD's great mercies. Excellent reminder rendered tastefully in brevity with a fittingly haunting poignancy. And from cranberries to holly is it? ah, what a suggestion! I never considered that angle ere now. Charming and bittersweetly poignant with superb imagery. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thank you too for checking in and taking the time to consider my brace of little scribbles earlier today Missy ππ
Kindness is cheap and scarce.
Good write, Neville. Iwill take the two-fer.
Good on ya Jez π§π
Excellent write Nevilie
Way to go buddy .. π§π
Nothing much to contribute here, Neville - our seasons being all awry..... except, perhaps it would be kindness if, before your winter ends you could send a slice by express post over here, as I have a feeling we might need it.....
I'll see what I can do, but don't hold ya breath & I suggest you stock up on ice cubes n lollies π§π
Beautiful work, my friend. A sad write for a sad day.
It sure was Thomas thanks but we just got to move on don't we .. neville
Where has kindness gone in this world Neville?
So true, the wildlife has certainly decreased in our world.
Andy
Sad, isn't it .. I'm glad it's not just me π
kindness is so necessary, and yet people bypass it though it would make a world of a difference to the recipient - poem 1 gets an 'A+'
winter can be harsh or pleasant, but with the recent global warming proceeding at such a fast pace, i wonder how long it will be before it's just a memory
Bless you dear Safina .. you are a credit to your own insight and to empathy .. ππ
thank you. God bless you
have a productive and beautiful week ahead
