Women today,
Love to prance.
Out the door,
In Yoga Pants.
I don’t think,
A great idea.
Very scary,
Bad habit, I fear.
They wear them to,
Work and play.
They wear them about,
Most every day.
I wouldn’t wear them,
To my job.
My Boss would think,
That I’m a slob.
I work with many,
Construction men.
Who like to gape,
At women’s rear ends.
Yoga Pants,
Belong in the Gym.
Not in Church,
Reciting Hymns.
Or, even shopping,
On weekends.
Hope they don’t wear them,
With Depends.
I’m so sorry,
If I’m crass.
Dress appropriate.
Show some class!

Oh if only - the high streets are full of slobbily dressed individuals these days with no sense of pride in appearance - and I love the poem.
Same here in the USA. I do not get it. People get lazy, I think. Thanks Michael! I think I prefer when everyone wore sweat pants 🙂
Over here we had a spate of women going to the supermarket in their onesies and slippers. There was a backlash against that but jogging pants are often the norm I am afraid. Great lines as usual. Phil.G
Thanks Phil. They really are appropriate for the Gym, of course. But, not in the office or workplace. Just my opinion. What you describe here about the supermarket there sounds scary 🙂
This made me giggle.....not really a thing over here...apart from the gym.....yoga pants but the pictures it conjured up 😅
Believe me. After I posted this, I saw nothing but Yoga Pants EVERYWHERE! Ha Ha. Thanks Jooles!
Good write lol. With church, it may depend what sort of group it is - whether Sunday best, or jeans and T-shirt, or anything in between!
Thank you orchidee!
And .... oohh I dunno. I was about to look down on someone in jeans, then they told me they were a millionaire. So I said ' Nice pair of jeans'. See me flatter and grovel there?! heehee. (fictional story).
Thanks for your observarions HONEY ~ When one watches old films of the Victorian & Edwardian period (and films set in that period) Ladies dressed and behaved with decorum. I guess the rot set in in the 20's and the Jazz Age and really went to the wall after WW2 (1939 ~ 45) and the decline has continued ever since. Ladies like to be topless in inappropriate places (like on Cruise Ships) and even attend Church dressed for the GYM ! I prefer LADIES to dress feminine and with decorum ~ alas they are now a rare bred. Thanks for scaring ~ HUGS BRIAN
I think it comes to just being too relaxed. Thanks for the history info. I know that skirts had to be shorter during WWII due to the need for material to make uniforms. But, I cannot think of a noble excuse for being lazy with one's outfits. Thanks Brian!
Good observation and so true, people just do not dress up nowadays, myself included since I retired. My exception though is going out in the evening or going to Church when I dress appropriately.
