MY BUNNY RABBITS ~ An Acrostic Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

MY BUNNY RABBITS are so sweet

You should see them ~ in their run so neat

Bunnies playing in the fresh green grass

Unfazed by all the things that pass

No one considers a bunny is crass

NO ~ I will poke you in the eye ~ if

You're thinkin' ~ Yummy Rabbit Pie !

RABBITS are for fun ~ NOT Rabbit stew

A Rabbit is a very cute pet too

Black ones ~ White ones ~ Grey one for you

Big ones ~ small ones and some are BLUE !

I love to hold and stroke my Rabbits

They make me laugh ~ with their mating habits

So I have a DOE & BUCK ~ I'll get some babies with a bit of luck !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Cuddly Love ~ BRIAN

  • Comment from author about the poem: RABBITS make great pets ~ easy to look after and they don't need WALKIES ! Don't keep them in a hutch ~ they need a secure run ~ to run ~ play and jump. They are very child friendly and love to be cuddled ! All rabbits are sexy and love to "breed". For children it is the perfect way to learn about reproduction and every one wants a Baby Bunny ~ more fun and much less trouble than a kitten or a puppy. Great pets for Seniors (if you have a garden) and if you get too old to cope you will never be lonely if you have a Toy Rabbit ! That is a Cuddly Toy ! Comments welcome ~ Bunny Hugs ~ BRIAN XOX

My eye is going to be sore then Brian.

Our daughter has two rabbits and the stewed rabbit joke does not go down well with her either.

    Good fun write.

Thanks ANDY ~ Lot of MPS poems are very sombre and BUNNIES make everyone smile. Pleased you daughter has rabbits ~ great fun pets. The problem is we don't eat cats or dogs (except in a siege !) but we do eat rabbits ! If I serve it I always tell my guests it is chicken because those that won't eat LAMB won't eat BUNNIES either but (oddly) it is OK to eat CHICKENS ! Yours BRIAN

I was raised on rabbit meat but regardless I enjoyed your poem and yes they don't need walkies unlike dogs and cats (sadly only a few cat owners take them for walks - most let them stray).

      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Ahhhhhhhhhhh MICHAEL ~ that explains why your Poems an' Pictures jump all over the place ~ you surprise us every morning ~ and like all my BUNNIES you are up and lively very early ! I was raised on PORK (no comment !). Thank for your comment and I agree CATS are largely left ti their own (de)vices ~ Yours BRIAN

Your bunny picture looks so cute Brian and I agree little bunnies make wonderful pets - - I have my Tessa dog though at the moment and take her for long walks which we both love.

Thanks FAY I agree ~perhaps Bunnies are more for Babies. As we get older a Dog provides companionship and exercise and a Cat is wonderful companion especially for the housebound. In my extended Family there are many for whom their Dog or Cat is a lifeline 1 None of the 50+ have a RABBIT ~ except in a casserole ! Yours B. Pleased you liked the poem & the picture !

Wonderful poem about bunnies! We go to the fair and look at all the different kinds every year. Very good rhyming acrostic, not easy to do! Hugs-Christina

Well CHRIS you know I always like a challenge ! The meter needs a bit of tweaking ~ but I got the rhyme right ~ if not the rhythm ~ it's never a perfect World ! It is a pleasure to go to County Shows and Bird & Rabbit Shows ~ in the UK ~ to enjoy the cuteness of the different breeds ! Bunny Hugs for you ~ BRIAN !

Bunnies are great. I had two when I was young. Very sad when we lost them to old age though. Love their noses 🙂
