Have You Seen My Voice?

WriteBeLight

I’ve lost something,

Important to me.

Gone from my grasp,

How can this be?

My vocal cords,

Are on the fritz.

Any remedy,

To help with this?

It’s what I use,

To express myself.

But, now it’s gone.

Like this, never felt.

I’ll have to call in,

A day from work.

Hope my voice,

Will come back, return.

If only I lost my voice for a day and could skip work and play.....!!!

    • WriteBeLight

Great comment vvnrose! But, it really is not much fun... very painful.

Thanks for scaring HONEY ! In my experience "Girls from New York ~ Love to Talk ~ Talk ~ Talk !" That is true of all the American Girls I have met especially those from TEXAS. I love their accent and they love mine so we talk all night ! So I understand just how serious your loss of voice is to you ! We have an expression "Go suck a zube !" A ZUBE is a throat lozenge ~ I don't know if they are available in the US ? I would give you a throat massage with WD40 to loosen your vocal chords ! Croaky Hugs ~ BRIAN

Ha Ha. If that worked, I would try it. My Doctor prescribed a numbing gargle. So gross in taste, but seems to be working. We do have those lozenges that really do not do much other than upset one's stomach. It just ... sucks when you get sick in any way shape or form. Especially with the weather getting better. Thanks for the comment Dear Brian.

such a sad state but a good write.

Thanks Goldfinch. Doctor told me that I do not have Strep Throat so I was so very happy about that. Seems the pollen is reeking havoc on every one in my neck of the woods. Rainfall helped some, though.

Thank you ochidee! I know that you have some wonderful hymns, so I will go and re-read and know they will do me some good 🙂

To think I may not find it
              is something that I fear
              But what is that?
              I heard it
so it must be somewhere near.

              • WriteBeLight

It is returning, slowly. I am anticipating being so much better tomorrow. That is my positive thinking, though. Thanks Michael!
