Tune: Stowey
('When a knight won his spurs')
Psalm 139 v.14-24 parts
********
O Lord, you I will praise
And your name I will raise
For it is I be made
In your image arrayed
Fearfully, wonderfully
You have made me, so be
Your good hand creating
Me all, each, everything
Marvellous your works be
My soul knows them, I see
My substance was hid not
When you portioned my lot
But when made in secret
All my parts were set
In your book, they all are
You the great God by far
How precious too, your thoughts
Unto me Lord, good sorts
How great sum of them is
I cannot count, 'tis this
The number of them more
Is than the sand's grains sure
When I wake, still with you
I am, you my God true
Search me, O God, and know
My heart, reveal, me show
If there any wicked
Way in me now be hid
And know my thoughts here, may
They be pure, I do pray
And lead me in your way
Of everlasting day

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6. 6.6.6.6. metre. I may have added in some extra syllables here and there. It does not seem to flow quite so well. The clip shows me and KP! I'm her knight in shining armour, but it don't show the ball and chain she tied to me leg! heehee.

*gets out dictionary for omniscient* It means all-knowing? Did you know that? Is you all-knowing anyway?! lol.
I first sang this about 50 years ago! Arrghh, so I been torturing folk for 50 years! heehee.
A beautiful write from the pansophical Orchi.
Thanks Michael. *leaves dictionary in easy-to-find place, and looks up pansophical*.
Lead me indeed Orchi. Good write.
Thanks Gold. You leading that horse to water? Will you make him drink?!
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO STEVE ~ From Hymns Ancient & Mystical ~ I think. My MUM always taught me "Be careful who you rescue ~ you may end up with her BALL & CHAIN !" If I saw KP up close and personal with a DRAGON ~ I'd ride by on the other side and say a Prayer for the DRAGON ! Love the Psalm Paraphrase Poem ~ 139 ~ Beautiful thoughts ! That is my Blank Verse Sonnet for SUNDAY ! Every Blessing ~ BRIAN
Thanks Brian.

~Laura~
Thanks Laura.
Our Creator know all our hearts and this lovely observation of how cared for we are is a pleasure to read Steve.
Thanks Fay.
Orchie, a fine poem. Love the ending. Don't know though if my thoughts are always pure!
Thanks Fred. My thoughts are impure when I add water to people's whisky. It pollutes and sabotages the whisky for them! lol.
