SPRING ~ A Word Flow Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

SPRING MEADOW ~ EVERY COLOUR OF THE RAINBOW

SPRING  is bursting out all OVER

OVER  the Hills and MEADOWS

MEADOWS  filled with new grass & FLOWERS

FLOWERS ~ every colour of the RAINBOW

RAINBOW  high in the Sky after RAIN

RAIN  to refresh flowers ~ but not DAMAGE

DAMAGE  in the UK ~ caused by HAILSTONES

HAILSTONES ~ Great Balls of Ice ~ Lethal to PETALS

PETALS  of Daffodils ~ Crocuses & TULIPS !

TULIPS  come later ~ mostly in APRIL

APRIL  showers are warm and gentle to PLANTS

PLANTS  are Ladylike ~ more robust than you THINK !

THINK  of the Snowdrops ~ cheeky poking through SNOW

SNOW  in the UK has now gone away ~ It's SPRING !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ love BRIAN

STRUCTURE:  In a Word Flow poem the poem must

begin and end with the same word (here it is SPRING).

Also the LAST WORD in each line becomes the FIRST

WORD in the subsequent line ~ OK !  I have capitalised

the first and last words for emphasis ~ OK !

Nice one Brian - I've not written in this form and might give it a go sometime - thanks for the inspiration.

THANKS MICHAEL ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! The key is not just to repeat the word ~ from the previous line ~ but to open the line using the word in a meaningful way ! This what I tried to achieve in this Poem ~ OK Yours BRIAN

BUENA MATINA LAURA ~ Cara Mia ~ PRIMAVERA has officially arrived (1st March) but is too shy (ladylike !) to reveal her true glory ! The greatest beauty is the plethora (good word) of Wild & Cultivated Flowers ~ Beautiful.
Grazie per tu commento ! Baci e Abbracci ~ BRIAN ~ Un Uomo de Primavera XOXOX

Clever poem Brian and such a tease for us here in New England........ weeks of cold still ahead per the forecasts..... the snow we have won't melt. What a beautiful picture! A field with gorgeous wildflowers and hardly a weed in sight!

          • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks LORNA ~ Spring does come later in some Northern States ~ but we love New England in the FALL ! Wild Flower Meadows are common in South England and very beautiful. There is competition for space among the plants ~ but the flowers always crowd out the weeds ! Spring Hugs ~ BRIAN

THANKS CHRIS ~ All the SNOW has gone from the South of England and the Hills are alive with the Sound of Song Birds and the Scent of Spring ! It will soon be like that in your Beautiful State because God has promised ~ even in North America ! SPRINGTIME would follow WINTER every year so follow the SUN ~ AMEN ~ It's 60F here this week so Warm Hugs ~ Your UK Brother ~ BRIAN ~ Just finished teaching for another day and Tuesday is always better than MONDAY soon be FRIDAY! B.

Good write - it is a pity that snow is being forecast again for later this week - The Beast from the East is returning.

THANKS ANDY ~ Depends where you live ! I hope I'm far enough South (Essex) to escape it ! Also THERESA has told VLADAMIR ~ We don't want no more Russian Snow (or nerve poison!). Thanks BRIAN
