Gibberish

Accidental Poet

Gibberish

The English language

Full of adjectives, verbs and nouns

Words with alternate meanings

Some with the same sounds

Words arranged in specific order

To convey a thought in my head

Read the words as written

Then comprehend what I read

It might make sense

And it might not

What’s this poem about?

Sorry, guess I forgot

No matter

Cause sooner or later

It’ll come back to me

A senior moment to savor

But will I remember

All that I wrote

I know what I’ll do

I’ll just leave myself a note

I really don’t know why

I write such foolishness

Sometimes my mind goes blank

And what comes out is gibberish

    AP,
This is no gibberish at all! It seems you’re able to write about anything! That’s what I call a gifted writer! That pen of yours is always ready to put ink on paper! The inkwell is always full! Kudos!
I enjoyed reading this great “Gibberish”!
That was a funny video! Enjoyed it!

P.S.-Having had to learn the English language, I can tell you that it is not an easy language to learn!

    • Accidental Poet

Thanks for all your kind words Laura, yes the English language has so many confusing synonyms, antonyms and words that have alternate meanings. I grew up with the English language and never realized how difficult it must me for someone to learn it until I began writing.

      • Laura🌻

I have to say though that the verbs are the easiest to learn in the English language. There aren’t too many conjugations! In the Italian language there are an over abundance of them!

English is the only language I know, so I'll stick with that rather than make a fool of myself trying to ask for pizza and ending up some procedure I can't even pronounce.

Gave me a smile and so true - nice one AP

Thanks Michael. Always glad to give you a smile.

As Laura said, this is no gibberish it is a very good write.

Thank you Andy. So maybe I've invented gibberish? I'll have to ask orchi if this qualifies as an invention I can claim.

            • orchidee

              A fine write AP.

              • Accidental Poet

Thanks orchi. So what do you think orchi? Can I claim gibberish as my own?

                • orchidee

                  You talking rubbish there?! heehee.

                  • Accidental Poet

1/2 teaspoon of rubbish, 3/4 cup of gibberish, a pinch of shock and a whole lot of something bouncing off the wall.

                  • Lorna

For me? The things I inspire! AP you made me laugh - but of course the poem was perfectly sensible! Resorting to Gibberish will be my last line of defense from now on!

                    • Accidental Poet

Thank you Lorna, I'm glad I made you laugh. The poem may be sensible, but where it came from might be a little deranged. Sometimes I've noticed when I write, it bounces off the wall a few times before it lands on the page. And Lorna, I don't imagine you would be in need of a defense. ; )
