When a Poem is published SHAPE becomes important !
Presentation is just as important as Rhyme & Rhythm.
Because it is disciplined ~ classical poetry (Sonnets and
Haiku etc always have a visually pleasing shape. Morphic
Poetry takes this to a new level and the completed Poem
(rather like a jig-saw puzzle) has a geometrical symmetry !
The above example (MORPHIC DIAMOND) is the simplest &
each line must be the same length longer that the previous
one. To make perfect symmetry the last line of verse ONE is
not repeated but becomes the first line of verse TWO which
is the same as verse ONE only reversed ~ OK The same Poem
can be presented as a DIABLO by writing verse TWO first and
the line "I" is not repeated and becomes the middle line !

Clever write Brian, it works well both ways.
Thanks ~ sometimes I an surprised how well is does work as written (I did not have to re-write it) I think it is a foible of the English language the not only can PALINDROMES (NAPOLEON ~ "Able was I ere I saw ELBA") make sense in reverse but a whole passage or poem ~ read from top to bottom and vice versa ! I have written many of these. It is a quirk of the English language that word order is flexible ! ! Good Morning I said ~ Said I Morning Good ! Thanks for your kind comment ~ BRIAN
I say it's a good write. Write good a it's say I. Erm, I need more practice at this lark! lol. I'm gibbering on now - no change there then! heehee.
But to take the theme of the poem - someone said 'The New Age' stuff is all 'Old Age' now! There are 'campaigney' people, having a faith or none, who try to set about changing the world. Had a speaker on such at church once. Couldn't stand the fella. Nothing of Christianity in his talk. He rather bored me!
Well STEVE Christians do not need the NEW AGE Philosophy (and it\'s adherents do penetrate the CHURCH) but we have the BOOK of REVELATION (which I have touched on !) BUT it does not make pleasant reading ~ but I believe it because in the END the GODHEAD prevails & SATAN is destroyed. My Faith is based on the BIBLE ~ In the Beginning GOD ~ In Between GOD ~ In the END GOD ~ Amen ! Thanks for reading and commenting ~ BRIAN
MY EXPERIENCE WITH STUDENTS IS: They all want to change the World but don't know how ! We had a speaker came to speak at College ! When asked for his "Plan for the Future" He said first i would tear everything down ! We asked then what ? He replied I on't know BUT when the past is destroyed ~ only then ~ will the NEW APPEAR ! To me even at 30 ~ it seemed to big a price to pay ! Thanks Steve for your comments !

THANKS MICHAEL ~ Morphic Poems are generally found in Children Books and friends of mine who are Primary Teachers give the children cardboard shapes (circles ~ stars ~ trees ~ animals etc) and ask them to write the poem / story within the shape ! When typing a poem more discipline is required ~ the shape constrains the word choise. The same is true of all Classical Poetic Structures especially Acrostic Sonnets ! Iām impressed by this form, the Morphic Diamond, and it works well here with your message Brian. Is it āgenerational biasā that judges all historical progress of the past as antiquated and inferior to what the present offers?
Thanks GARY ~ I\'m 35 (the old MIDDLE AGE !) now I\'m considered to only be ONE THIRD (not HALF~WAY) through my life ~ BUT ~ I hope to be married soon and raise a Family which makes me look forward to 2100 (Only God knows what it will be like for my KIDS in 2100) and back to 1900 (when my Greatgrandparents lived) and it makes me ask ~ what went wrong in the 20th C that makes us so so dependent on Electricity & Technology. I am an Ecologist and I believe our paranoid belief in Progress is destroying our Planet ~ and if we do THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO GO ! When I look at (some predictions for) 2100 (I will only be 117 !) I do feel MIDDLE AGED surviving in Middle Earth and I hesitate to reproduce ! Yours BRIAN (UK)
My prayer is that you and your wife will raise a very large Christian family! I hear thereās a new documentary with Pope Francis, due to be released any day now, and he has some stern words concerning mankindās misuse of the planet or āMother Earthā as he describes it. The spirit of ecology...certainly a path to God and one we must preserve for the sake of our children.
