VUELANDO EN ORDEN                      Flying in order

EL MES DE JULIO                               The Month of July

LA MARIPOSA QUIETA                       the butterfly is so still

The Spanish Haiku were originally written by Students

and they do not all follow the 5 7 5 syllable structure.

When I translate a HAIKU from another language it

is not a literal translation!  I use POETIC LICENCE to

ensure the English Haiku has the classical 5 7 5 form.

SPANISH is being increasingly taught in UK Schools

because it is the THIRD most common language in

the World. Many words are the same or similar to

Englsh as shown in the above examples.  Please

visit my FUSION POEM "WHAT LANGUAGES DO

YOU SPEAK".  Thank You. If you post a poem in

a language, other then ENGLISH please a add a

translation as I have done. Yours ANGELA XXXX

From nine o'clock Monday morning, three good haiku Angela.

"A partir de las nueve en punto de la maƱana del lunes, tres buenos haikus Angela."

The translation is allegedly Spanish but I am afraid its all Greek to me!

GRACIAS ANDY ~ An excellent Spanish translation ! I always encourage older People to learn languages. Portuguese is almost identical to Spanish and Italian is very similar. As is French (another Romance Language)which I learned at School. Thanks for your comment: Yours ANGELA X

      A fine write A & B.
A partit wotist too - wot Gold said. I dunno wot it means though, mind ya! lol.
Come see me Gold. I can translate Greek lettering. Can't speak it though.
You know - when some poems appear in Greek. Something to do with the uploading I think.

      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks STEVE: Glad you liked the Spanish Haiku. Those who post in \"GREEK\" do it to impress! It is not \"proper Greek\" they have just replaced the English letters with Greek letters (BETA for B etc). I encourage OLDER people to learn languages. To learn the basics: Six months for SPANISH, one year for RUSSIAN & GREEK and two years for CHINESE & JAPANESE! Yours ANGELA X Please check my FUSION on Languages: Thanks.

But there is some gremlin or 'blip' that causes certain poems to appear in Greek, while uploaded in English.

            • Fay Slimm.

What a lovely idea Angela to present haiku in Spanish and English - - the third stanza did it for me with its clear vision of a resting butterfly - was there in that July garden from just three little ilnes - a pleasure to read and thank you for sharing.
