Insomnia
kevin browne said:
i have a severe problem with insomnia and it completely drains the life out of me. there are pdst tendencies in my life from family trauma matters for a long number of abusive years from my father. 6 children and my parents whom my father never made us forget how violent and horrible he was. I am 47 and the contact between us all is nil because of my father. I am also disabled which makes my mental ability even tougher. you have touched my soul with your writing and I think we should give ourselves a well done for having to deal with it.

I\'m not a doctor but I may have a few pointers. if you have to stay awake for two days or more do it time it but don\'t worry about being awake to long. it happens to me all the time. after a very long time staying awake I sleep for a very long time. staying awake will not kill you. also put a black cloth over your eyes when you want to lay down. hope this helps. paul

Misery
swingline said:
What you want to do and what you can do often come into conflict with each other . Perhaps if you made a to do list everyday and jot down things that need to be done and try to accomplish getting some of them done .Even getting just a few easy tasks done enables the will with more power to do more tomorrow .

Once upon a time I was emo
Krystal Brewington said:
Well expressed. Once upon a time I was emo also.. Don\'t matter your appearance. It\'s who you are inside as a person. Don\'t matter what people think. Be who you are regardless what any one thinks. Stay true to your self. I really loved this.

Well expressed poem, Sada! My preference ... you might want to try incorporating structure into your poetry, breaking it up into stanzas.

Once upon a time I was emo
swingline said:
It\'s 3:13 a.m. here and I couldn\'t sleep so I clicked on MPS to read . So I\'m groggy and I read \"Once upon a Time I was Emo\" and it comes across \"Elmo\" instead if \"Emo\". I thought ,\"Oh nice a muppet poem to go with my spaghetti mind .\" But I see it was about the music , a life syle , being someone different , independently . Then I realized I\'m into punk , alternative , emo . Long before they had a nane . And I\'m the same person now as I was then . I guess I\'m just a \"Creep\".

Society of the damned
Tony36 said:
Society is a sickness that seeps into one\'s own blood and mind. Destroying the person we should be, and turning us into mindless drones. So all we do is be the person they want us to be, they tell us to be, they demand us to be. It sucks, because there seems to be no way out. we just get lost in the void, another face in the crowd. No longer an individual, no longer a free spirit, forever a part of the system.

Humans
Augustus said:
Wow this poem started out pretty bleak with the world going to hell in a handbasked, while we extend niceties to one another. The end was softer. Enjoyed the ride. But if you are sincere about the first part of the poem, you don\'t give a fig about what I\'m saying anyway. Well done.

The Chronicles of pain and suffering
P.X. Vexxus said:
I can relate to this. I always lived in the shadows of others. One day I decided to do so, no more. To become something greater, something unique. To write my thoughts on paper, so people could see. Believe in me, and want to be me. This dream is something I will someday achieve. And I only have society to blame, and thank. Thank them for shunning me, for treating me different. For I wouldn\'t have found the urge to be more than ordinary without them. Thank you.

Everyone is unique . How they observe and deal with life is also unique to each person . Your observaton of others will pay off big in the future . Love wears no watch , does not make appointments , it comes and goes at it\'s discretion . Fortunately it will visit all eventually and one needs to wait patiently . When your young you have so much to look forward to . When you\'re old you have so much to look back on .

Space & Time
BRIAN & ANGELA said:
Thanks SADA for an interesting POEM ! I agree there is no limit to space or time ~ BUT ~ they are the two dimensions we are caught up in ~ so in our personal capsule of S & T we have to make sense of our own existence. For most of us the Planet Earth defines our space and intellectually we are programmed to deal with that. We know our past but it is the future that is 100% uncertain. We must prepare for that wherever on Earth we are ! Are you well prepared for the future ? Yours BRIAN

WELCOME SADA ~ Thanks for your first poem ! As you say it is a good motto (Mission Statement) for life. I like the last line ~ in view of what has been said previously ! \"Go out in the world ~ show your friends what you got ~ and press send !\" We could all take note of that. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ BRIAN (UK) Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B.
