Anna, whether the heroine in this poem is you or somebody else, it is the right decision!
Beautifully written, well thought out, great flow.

Anna, this is a great poem! The stanza starting with \'conflict...\' is why you are here on MPS. You read what others write and it helps you grow with your own writing.
So, maybe you can!

War
Accidental Poet said:

Your poem here has hit its mark Anna. War makes no sense at all. When I was young, I had a neighbor who had returned home from Viet Nam. And though I hadn\'t known him before he left, I got to know him after he came home. He would flinch every 10 seconds or so from the bombs going off in his mind. And his best friend was shot and died in his arms. I always felt so sad that no matter how much I wanted to, I couldn\'t take away his memories of that hell he lived through while his best friend had to die. Excellent write Anna.

War

Sad, but true! War is an ugly thing and so totally senseless. Throughout history wars were fought just to replace one bad situation with another bad situation, with much suffering on both sides.
Your epic poem is very well written and covers a lot of ground. Kudos!

War
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Thanks ANNA for a very poignant Poem ~ WAR takes no prisoners and affects all who are tainted by it ~ Military and Civilians alike ! I live near a Garrison Town so we see the effects ~ Young Men with missing limbs ~ and the traumatic effect on Young Families and even worse those who return in Coffins. I am much too young (34) to remember WW2 (1939 ~ 45) but the effects still haunt the UK and on 11 November 2017 \"We will remember them\" Yours as always ~ BRIAN (UK)

Broken souls
FredPeyer said:

Unfortunately, Anna, broken souls are everywhere. Out in the world and here on MPS. The last two lines of your poem are so important, but most of us shy away from getting involved.
Very good writing!

Anna, your first line says it all. Love really is happiness and pain! I also like the last line. You are a good writer!

WELCOME ANNA ~ Thanks for your first Poem ~ which is somewhat of \"Greek Tragedy\" I am old enough (34) to have sampled (several times) the AGONY & ECSTASY of LOVE ~ so I can empathise. With my current Lady (Angela 29) we are still in ecstasy mode ~ thank God ! As your poem indicated ~ when you discover the \"true character\" of your Lover ~ the World and everything in it ends for a Season ! I have a MANTRA (which is easier for Men than Ladies ?) \"Better to have Loved & Lost ~ Than never to have Loved at all\" I love GREECE and everything GREEK ! Every Blessing ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
