Some Substances like CYANIDE are instantly fatal because they combine with HAEMOGLOBIN and render it useless ~ others like ALCOHOL ~ ETHANOL (C2H5OH) are toxic but take a lifetime (20 to 90 years) to actually kill you METHANOL (CH3OH) ~ one glass will kill you ! In our experience most Young Men have a *Death Wish* ~ Extreme Sports & Danger & Drinking Contests and ultimately if they have enough Adrenelin ~ To Drink or inject anything ~ even unto Death ! Over the last 20 years (15 to 35) I (BRIAN) have lost Several Friends & Aquaintances and 1 or 2 of my extended family because they refused to ignored DANGER &TOXICITY etc ~ There were the worst FUNERALS I ever attended BUT Boys will be BOYS and increasingly in the 21st C Girls will be LADETTES ! Angela & I have never smoked or fooled with Drugs ~ we are not Teetotal but are NEVER drunk and incapable. We have both tried BUNGEEJUMPING ~ Cave exploration ~ Rock Climbing ~ Sailing ~ Motor Cycling etc etc. Next year we will both TRY MARRIAGE for the first (and we hope the last) time despite the fact that Poeple say its can be very TOXIC and can ruin a BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP !
