Wow so true! We\'re all trying to escape reality and it\'s problems. You expressed it very well and the emotion was felt! 💖

Silence
L. B. Mek said:

\'I don\'t know you so well
But I had a glimpse of your soul
There is beauty
As there are wounds to heal
We\'re both broken inside
Travelled the world alone
Until crossing each other\'s paths
Where we might truly belong
But it\'s always never the right time
And it\'s always never easy
There\'s a myriad of things
Getting in the way
And never finding
The right words to say\'..
dear Poet
when you\'re done rummaging around
in the callused bruises of my heart,
kindly replace the key, where you found it..
lol
(your poetry is alive
with so much relatability!
a great write, thanks for sharing)

The World
L. B. Mek said:

\'In this vast, cruel world
What can a small, insignificant
Speck like me do?
Why don\'t you ask
Those who are at the top
Of this class divide
I\'m just living in the middle
Trying to survive\'..
Amen!
(I can so relate,
to this imagery of a lost sense of self, in context
to this huge, unrelenting world
where, we\'re asked to dive in-to and swim within, like
there\'s nothing that could potentially hinder us?!)
thanks for sharing

Many feel like this Mariel but as you said you are here, as we all are, and we can live within our own little world and make it better for those around us.

(personally, I still think he\'ll never top Novacane) lol
I read you beautifully Poetry, and came her to comment my appreciation, but I don\'t think you need my reaction, deep down
you already know what deep pools of Talent: you\'re working with, just
a question of cultivating it all, to fulfil your Purposed aspirations..
in short: You\'re Awesome
please, Do your best to safeguard your Awesomeness, sincerely
(from a wannabe scribbler
of inked rainbows, recycled
out of all the abundant hellfire, we\'re forcibly made to inhale, here
on this very same earth
we\'ve been educated to label, Home:
from our \'knowingly screeched\' arrival, at birth...)
\'Talk to me, I won\'t know what else to say
Well then tell me, how can I feel so much
And feel nothing at the same time?
My days, I keep myself so busy
To suppress any sign of emotion
While I no longer get drunk at nights
I still cry to \"Godspeed\" by Frank Ocean\'

Dunno quite how to respond to the chill of your piece today... emotionally that is. It certainly hit me.

As before, your writing is excellent and here drew me right in close to the everyday before slapping my face with a stunning blow.

Just excellent writing.

There is so much of this around in society. In many ways we are lucky because television has brought social conscience into our homes and we can actually see and identify what is happening to us and our families. It is a luxury my parents didnt have (i\'m an old man now) and so they just pa1ssed on the crap they had been subjected to.
Identifying the situation goes a long way toward solving it, but it\'s not an easy ride at all.
A great piece of writing from you again.

Very emotive words Mariel, but you may have learned form you past not to lead you children along the path that you have been led.

ADHD
HannahElisabeth said:

You put this so absolutely, amazingly well! I\'ve never come across a poet who talked about the struggles of having ADHD before. I was just taken off my stimulant medication for ADHD as of yesterday for severe side effects, this couldn\'t resonate more right now. Thank you for sharing something so personal, you\'re not alone :)

to my bed,
If I\'m not transfixed
I lose myself: to overstimulation\'
(forgive my rudeness, but this
is how your beautiful poetry revealed itself to me)

We all need periods like you describe so well.
For some it\'s a recovery period after an event of some kind, for others it\'s a rest to take stock, re-evaluate, justify, maybe contemplate another course.
Whichever it is, self knowledge and positivity will be enhanced.
