A day in the life, in lovely verse, complete with pets, food and of course a lovely summer\'s eve. I envy the three poetesses their Tetee-a-Tete, what wonderful company to keep.

Let\'s Blame the \"Ghosts,\" Shall We?

Missy, I swear your kitchen should get a writing credit. From midnight cats to the politics of porridge, this whole set reads like holy chaos wrapped in rhyme. “They’re HIS cats?!” nearly made me spit my drink. Seriously — your daily life is a sonnet cycle waiting to happen. 🌹👏 On another note, I suppose you won\'t be calling the Ghostbusters! Slimer is sad! 🤣

Well written, your poems revolve around the mundane aspects of daily life, such as meals, waiting, and the relationship with pets, particularly a cat named Tigger. The poet reflects on the trivialities and frustrations of everyday routines while intertwining moments of introspection and a search for comfort or divine guidance. The subject matter is a blend of domestic life, personal struggles, and the quest for fulfillment, highlighting the often-overlooked details that shape our experiences. I love your contemporary setting. The dates provided (July 10-11, 2025) suggest a recent composition, hinting at a personal journal-like quality where the poet captures thoughts and reflections in real-time. The repeated call for divine assistance (\"LORD, we need You\") emphasizes a longing for support amidst the chaos of daily life, bridging the mundane with a spiritual quest.

Missy, you’ve outdone yourself with this culinary canon. The ghost of Barry’s tea...Tigger’s existential dread...and pizza as spiritual warfare? Every line feels like multitasking in iambic pentameter. Honestly, I’m still recovering from “Think fast!” followed by a smoothie. 🤣 Whatever this “spread” is...it’s holy chaos. And I loved every minute of it. 🌹👏

Dear Missy,

No Barry\'s, what\'s a girl to do; tea/lemonade and no brie. Your life\'s a muddle of late in three hurried sonnets yet wonderfully composed. A real treat to read. Very well done.

Wishing you the very best,

Tony.

When I visit a friend here, I do wonder if it might be you in a completely distorted time/space way. Breakfast and the cat singular; only one, she\'s been...what\'s that word...done? Rendered in your inimitable style of sonneteering gastronomy and feline appreciation.

And there you go again, my dear friend, folding the sacred into the scent of breakfast hash and the bounce of cats off walls (I love your cats, just saying)! These sonnets flow like journal entries from a soul in motion, caught between heaven and furballs, grace and groceries. What can I say, Missy? You rock! 🌹👏

Oh wow, cats on the bed... I wondered if I had already posted the cats/sunbeam poem here at MPS... else that would be today\'s feature. And I have found over the years a niggling underground connection between rain/moisture and ants being present in and around those times. Hope all is well in the feline cosmos. 🕊️🙏🏻
P.S. indeed it has been posted up already: https://mypoeticside.com/show-poem-205524
so another poem will be featured in its place. 🐈

Enjoy? I always do when it comes to your scrumptious sonnets! There’s something almost theatrical in how you carry the day...from clouds to cucumbers, kittens to coffee tables...with the cadence of prayer and the chaos of memory. These sonnets, my dear friend, pile up like the cats themselves: mischievous, sacred, absurd, and entirely alive. And still, the aching human heart beneath it all pluses like a low hymn on an organ. Thoroughly enjoyed! 🌹👏

Poems \"I Think I Hit the Jackpot\" and \"Their Watermelon Slices Looked Convincing\" explore themes of domestic life, the joy of simple pleasures, and the passage of time. The first poem reflects on the joys of preparing food for loved ones, particularly the joy derived from serving raw salmon to pets, while juxtaposing this with the delight of a Saturday breakfast with French toast. The second poem expresses nostalgia and the fleeting nature of time, capturing moments of everyday life and the joy in small tasks, like selecting food at a market. Both poems highlight the importance of food as a source of comfort and connection in daily life.
