Has to be LOVE.....

Wow, I'm stunned. Seems written by a master, if not one very experienced in verse.

Dance to the music of the mind, the closer you twirl towards him your Valentine will get closer to you. Keep dancing.

Re: the Church

Sounds like words and feelings coming out from years spent in the environment you describe here. Not your typical religious poem. Not many who believe would admit to the fear factor so prevalent in Christianity.
I would respectfully take exception to the hate mentioned in the last verse, though. I don't hate believers. Hate is the most honest feeling; it cannot be faked. They say love is the most powerful feeling in the world? Well, one can fake love, but not hate.
However, it is also too strong a feeling to be used against people you don't even know personally, and in my opinion, not worthy of being used at all.
Well written.

A very nice poem. Good rhythm and I nice choice of words.
You've sketched a scene I've encountered many times, yet I never thought of it this way. Great work.

It's intriquing, thought-provoking, loved it. You never mentioned what the spring symbolizes..well, here's an idea. I think it is the bond of love, and through it God, for he is love incarnate.

Humorous yet very serious. Been there, done that and I can relate. It spoke to me.
However, to answer your question, the woman is always the better half ;)
