A sense of the travelling down the path of loneliness, with anticipation that they may might be making it to the other side, asking will they still be on there own or will someone be there to greet them, nicely expressed and written

The feeling of isolation and alienation but the view of it as liberating and setting one free to choose as one may. A lovely poem

Grieving You
GeekSusie said:
This is deeply moving. I can feel the weight of your grief and the ache of missing someone so loved. The honesty and rawness in your words are heartbreaking and beautiful. You’ve captured what so many feel but struggle to express. Thank you for sharing something so personal—your son’s memory clearly lives strong in your heart. You\'re not alone.

I often wonder is death a He or She? Is it an act of hate or mercy? Perhaps I will never know the answers and I am not meant to till the last fraction of second of my being. The poem is too real and made me think. Great write

these whispers in the wind are so haunting - they can tantalize one so much..

Oooh, this is dark, haunting, alluring and eloquent like a great Gothic masterpiece. In this, one is their own ghost. The inner person feeling estranged...maybe even a stranger....to their outer self (the one staring back in the mirror). I love this conversation with the inner and outer selves, for lack of better articulation, and I find the dialogue to be true to my own experience. Well done, my friend. A fave for multiple reasons! 🌹👏

There is an eery aura emenating from and surrounding this most splendid passage of poetry. Especially so, the last three stanzas rhyming into hollowness. Great poetry indeed.
Kind regards,
Tony.

The Grim Reaper never sleeps and toils without mercy; leaving in his wake rivers of grief and shattered hearts. Your poem is excellent, deftly composed with poetic flair and sincerity. My heartfelt condolences for your loss and may you find some form of succour in your beautiful writings.

Oh, dear friend, I am so sorry to hear that! What a terrible tragedy, and the worst example of things happening in threes. That is something, no matter how much time passes, one never “gets over“. Learn to cope, find a way to accept, yes. But get over, no, never what a beautiful expression, my friend, a haunting one this is something I’ve seen in my dreams And it feels like it mixes nicely with the final destination films. It rings and sings like a song with the alarming allure only death can have. This is a must fave for me because in it is both a fun haunt of a poem that speaks to all of our mortality and a profoundly deep and vulnerable expression of pain and suffering and longing and, I hope for you, my friend healing. Again, I absolutely love this poem! Well done!🌹👏

A great poem and metaphor that we all can identify with. I have heard his knock before as well but now it seems that he is visiting distant neighborhoods and I would much rather that he knock on my door than that of many I know. I\'m ready for him and have the table set. A really fun read.

A wonderful piece of work that calls to me in that I feel the same way. Poetry is my therapy. The rhyme is very nice as is the meter both of which make the poem flow smoothly. Very nice
