A beautiful poem of what might have been and of art. Most lovely with a wistful but hopeful feeling

Funny, that might actually be useful. Guess you remind me of a discussion with one of my brothers years and years ago, he telling me sadly he was losing his faith in mankind. Last I saw him he\'d figured darker things out and enlightened me. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Very nicely worded this thorny problem of balance. As for the dead they would all be appalled. Deeply philosophical and with no good answer as all good philosophical questions are. To answer it we must step out of our moral and political views and enter a new level of justice and morals

Futility
Cheeky Missy said:

Police chases, eh? My favorite was the late-ish night a motorcycle came through the lonely intersection we were perched on one corner of, stopped and turned into the darkness, a cruiser in hot pursuit, then a second and third, shortly thereafter. The motorcyclist came through again sans them and then they did. In the morning we heard the report which said they used a helicopter to get him since he sadly took off on foot into the woods, if I recall, and they got him when he emerged. Thanks for dredging that memory. Prettily rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

A brief, contemplative meditation on choice, weariness, and the pull between aspiration and inertia. The questions invite exploration, yet the speaker’s tone turns pragmatic and even cynical; about the costs of venturing. The closing lines admit a gravity that keeps the self grounded, making this feel like a crossroads between desire for discovery and resignation to human limits.

This feels like multiple poems in one, I like it. I myself have come to this awareness in politics and it’s left me in a state of political paralysis
