My favorite was the late-ish night a motorcycle came through the lonely intersection we were perched on one corner of, stopped and turned into the darkness, a cruiser in hot pursuit, then a second and third, shortly thereafter. The motorcyclist came through again sans them and then they did. In the morning we heard the report which said they used a helicopter to get him since he sadly took off on foot into the woods, if I recall, and they got him when he emerged. Thanks for dredging that memory. Prettily rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
