A poem of unrequited love with a twist at the end. A fun read

This has the potential for a song. Nicely written and with chorus as well.

We will never die

So metaphoric this poem strikes close to home I love the line (the lie stings even my own tongue ) a fave the message I take to be that one can take another\'s pain on through a lie and suffer it oneself. A most noble concept that many may debate the ethics of but seems most giving in intent.

La, how gorgeously rendered with superb imagery and an exquisite poignancy, tendering a most painful reality many will resonate with, until I\'m left speechless yet so very, very sad. Thank you very much for sharing. I love it, albeit I\'m sorry you must taste such exquisite misery.

We sell ourselves short and in doing so lock the door to what could have been. Maybe it would work, maybe not who\'s to know if you don\'t give yourself a chance and try, then persist until it is certain. A wonderful write of the inner self and its doubts.

The Trying

But the trying is tough and the sense of worth doesn’t come readily. Indeed! So here I remain all the soggier for wear.

If the underlying message is keep trying, pushing, then you\'ve got it right, I think.

Thoughts that many have and when the last person to know you is gone who will remember then? Our influence goes on and ripples like waves in a pond. Our influence on one may affect another and so on, A butterfly effect if you would. Nicely written it has a haunting feeling to it.

If you have been loved, you will stay in the memory of those still living who knew you. I remember my great grandmother well and she was born in the late 1800’s. Such a kind old lady. Guilt doesn’t come into it. It’s all about love. Nice poem. Have a happy Thursday.
