A COWBOY POET SHOT IN THE SHIN
sorenbarrett said:

The humor of the p instead of o where a missed aim does the damage this time on the keyboard instead of the shot is genius. It caused me to think a bit to begin with but sunk in as I read. To be shot in the shin must really hurt. I have banged my shin before and that was bad enough I can\'t imagine a shot there. As a poet I have taken a shot or two but one to the shin and a missed one at that makes me wonder what they were shooting at. The culprit never named remains anonymous. You the cowboy poet did you ever find out who shot you in the shin? Hope it was just an accidental misfire. Good write David

THE STEADY HAND

The foolishness of youth in this poem. Nicely worded it tells of the intemperance and passion that is tempered into the iron and steel of age. Well done

HISTORY\'S BUFFET
Doggerel Dave said:

Any argument which might remind that it is history which provides explanations for world events gets a thumbs up👍from me - even in this jokey rollicking format.

I\'D RATHER BE...
sorenbarrett said:

Upon reading this the cadence and content brought to mind the song El condor passa as arranged and words by Simon and Garfunkel (I\'d rather be a hammer than a nail) It has a feel of choice even if only in the mind and in this poem for the more traditional -except in the case of the snowflake- and the more rugged. Nicely written it has the feel of a song.

ONLY RACISTS DRINK HERE
Tristan Robert Lange said:

David, this piece carries grit and truth…the music, the characters, the warmth of the bar, and the sting of judgment from those who never step inside. You told the story with humor, weight, and heart. Well done. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

ONLY RACISTS DRINK HERE
Mutley Ravishes said:

An acquaintance of mine who is in a mixed \"race\" relationship lives in a small country town with his wife. He said they never get any hassle when they go out and about together in the town. However, when they go to the big city, a different story unfolds. I\'ll let you fill in the blanks as to who does the hassling.

UNCLE TOM
Demar Desu said:

I like the tempo and pattern… it’s a story that every black American has to deal with unfortunately. We are a traumatized people… still we are also forgiving. Don’t let name calling or fleeting feelings be the end of relationships to each other.
