THE SOLDIER\'S REQUEST
Paul Bell said:

Fighting for you to go to college to protest against fighting.
Sounds reasonable to me and probably every other sane person in the world.
Sadly, the world is full of insane leaders, and we need our soldiers to protect us from them.

THE SOLDIER\'S REQUEST

A wonderful poem that has a bit of biting irony written into it and can be taken either of two ways. Like the message given in the poem as long as there is diversity of thought there will be war. Here there may be diversity of opinion about the message of the poem itself. Are you patriotic or are you for one world for war or peace. There is a bit of sardonic humor here. Each side argues there own without seeing the other it is individualism and freedom vs collectivism and unity a type of free will vs determinism, value of the individual vs that of all. There is no right answer only from each point of view. A fave

MOMENTS OF MADNESS
sorenbarrett said:

Some really good lines in this poem and a topic that can be taken as dementia setting in or disillusionment with life in general and the way the world has progressed. Nicely written and highly identifiable

COLD MORNING HUNT

ORIGINAL CUTS
sorenbarrett said:

Dramatic and full of anger this poem is one of revenge and pain. It is well written and conveys the story well ending before the story is finished but just implied. Very nice.

MIDNIGHT LADY
sorenbarrett said:

This is a wonderful psychological display in poetic form. The suspicion confirmed in the mind against denials becomes real. True or not a sense of paranoia develops and envelops the person who thinks of revenge and uses it to justify their own behavior. Well composed and nicely rhymed a story well told

THE GHOST OF YELLOW-JOHN MATTHEWS
Tristan Robert Lange said:

David, this is such a fun, full-circle tale...classic sea shanty spirit meets modern myth. It reads like a ballad told by firelight. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

DOOM PASSES...

A great message contained in this poem. We may often misinterpret or even anticipate things to be final, or worse than they turn out to be. They all end as some point and a new day begins. Lovely

EQUAL, NOT THE SAME
sorenbarrett said:

A valid point made in this poem. The same goes for any physical difference in people, size, strength, speed athletic ability, practice and desire mean a lot but nature makes the difference that can not be made up for. A wonderful write.
