Moment After Moment
“Memories of the future” : it has been said that the poet is also a prophet. Thus, the poet naturally wants to look ahead and try to detect what awaits us.
“In the \"Defence\" he insists that the poet \"not only beholds intensely the present as it is, and discovers those laws according to which the present ought to be ordered, but he beholds the future in the present.\" The poet is prophet and legislator, in Shelley\'s terms, by his untiring efforts \"to set the crooked straight.\" (…..)”
\"SELECTIONS FROM SHELLEY\'S POETRY AND PROSE.\" (EDITED BY DENNIS WELLAND). LONDON : HUTCHINSON EDUCATIONAL LTD., 1961.
Full acknowledgements are made to the authors, publishers and rights-holders.
“The poet beholds the future in the present…” The poet not only looks at what happens now but is also interested about the future. Soman Ragavan. 29 May, 2023.

So Close — So Far

On the poem “So close – so far” by K. P Behm
Refer to the song :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/So_Near_and_yet_So_Far
You have mentioned specific parts of human life : ambitions, reality, palate, taste buds, vocation, reality, future. It is a compact, cryptic poem. Soman Ragavan. 23 May, 2023. //

A great write, dear Poet
thanks for inspiring this feeble poetic reply:
(to look back, to witness fact
thus
stay in foreshadowing\'s reprieve
assimilate, horizon within mirage
accumulate, surrealism\'s escape
and delay
reality\'s unwanted slap
of awareness, with it\'s jarring
effect
warping, that we want to treasure
most...)

Each line had strong individual message but they weren’t woven, weren’t in or out of any sequence , patterned or chaotic and I hoped for an even elusive attachment before the last line arrived.

Liked the poem. To be honest, I’m not quite grasping the full meaning of the last line?
