At the check out today at the chemist’s was a larrikin at the till. Made for a pleasant errand and a light feeling at the beginning of 2024. Happy New Year!

The Checkout.

A reminder why I never use those self-service checkouts.. I am a people person and I enjoy the contact with a cashier. I like to see smiles and have a greeting when I pay for my shopping. Shopping day today. Good morning.

The Checkout.
orchidee said:

In some shops I take basket (with wheels on) right thorough the checkout, and pack up my bags after paying.
Occasionally, cashier says \'Please don\'t take basket out of the shop\'. Understandable, as people leave trollies in the street, far from the shop.
Another hazard is when a new till opens, and they all dash there, and we may be left in a long queue still. We can play \'Guess which till will open\'. But a little patience won\'t hurt us.
Could you pop in to see that prisoner on the IOW? He is being released in February - ooh!

That last line is simple yet so impactful. β€œLet love be the new way.” Indeed, wars both internal and external act as roadblocks to our progress. So this poem speaks volumes in regard to its application, we should all embrace a loving spirit.

Sometimes a bit like that tomorrow/yesterday/today thingy. Tomorrow is the yesterday...... oh, you knows it. lol.
Hope we feel the old year was good too, or else we\'re continually wishing it happy when a new year starts, then bidding it good riddance when it ends! Doh!
How have the past millions of years been for us two?

Yes, and they all run indoors in a cricket match, at the first drop of rain.
But there\'s a lot of standing about in that sport.

Generous Life.
Dev Parth said:

The poem beautifully reflects on the passing year, expressing gratitude for its beauty and love. The imagery of darkness and the full moon symbolize hope, the light continuing into the next year, grateful for the generous life experienced and hopeful for many more years to come.

Well πŸ‘ written I enjoyed it πŸ˜€

I was sure I\'d not heard this piano piece before and was all set to make note of such, but then decided to listen to the video. And to my surprise I have heard this before, don\'t remember where. But a beautiful piece it is and I\'m happy I did listen to it and of course with the masterful writing that it accompanies. πŸ™‚πŸ‘

I believe if we want to change the world (and we can), all (big call) we have to do is change ourselves.
