A peaceful write Gold. Yes - the end lines: somehow the meek and gentle will inherit the earth, though some laugh and scoff and say \'no way; they\'ll be trampled underfoot\'.
I could possibly set this to a hymn tune, with only minor amendments, if you wish.

It\'s The Oldies Fault Again.
Teddy.15 said:

Andy, this makes me feel sad for you, I get that we need to help our younger generations, but leaving the home you have so many memories and have loved for so long, must be a true dilemma, life is hard for all. In Italy there is a different way, grandparents help with the children so parents can go earn the bucks, they are also incredibly generous however they don\'t sacrifice things they have worked for for themselves. My father didn\'t ever give me a keepsake of my mother when she died, nor a good wish on my wedding day, but I know you would give anything to yours. ðŸŒđ

Such mixed feelings with this poem Andy. Torn between what I was able to do and my children. Bought my first house when 35 had to sell it. Bought another when 42 paid for it after 30 years of payments. Along the way bought four others some to sell, some to rent and maybe pass on to kids. But then my wife seemed to be a real-estate genius self taught. Good write Andy it does seem that one is chasing the wind with the real-estate market

Feel persecuted again, Andy?
Would you not concede that large portions of the young are finding home ownership unaffordable, and further are being exploited by high rental costs?
Why?

Brings back memories of varying versions of Swan Lake. I always thought swans sounded a bit like geese. Of course I rarely see any of the former and vividly recall being chased by one nesting black swan. 🙏🕊ïļðŸĶĒ
