Moments

such moments, visit me too
sometimes
but always, fleetingly...

Inside of me
L. B. Mek said:

you had me at \'A schism\'..
and the Me, I recognised
in your words, made its presence
felt
all through, the rest of the read
as-if, I was in one of my
meditatively introspective, moments..
I laud your bravery!
thanks for sharing, dear poet

Lelouch Lamperouge said:

If happiness had a form, what would it look like? It might be something like glass, because one doesn’t notice it normally. However, it is actually there. As proof, if you look at it from a different angle, the glass will reflect light. It will state its presence and existence more eloquently than any other thing in this world.

A Dobermann

Love the repetition and the connected lives. I love that we can create stories in poetry but without all the fluff of a novel.

A road I know
L. B. Mek said:

I can relate to the wording of despair in your yearning:
\'Your address, I forget it sometimes.
But I remember how to get there.

It hurts whenever I go by,
But that\'s alright with me.

Cause I still love a ghost,
Who\'s too far away to see.\'..

Cycle

\'It\'s an odd pattern,\'
how our cynically cyclical, innate traits - tend
to warp the simplicity, in our gifted experience of life..
an absorbing read, full of unique insights

Dancing In The Rain
L. B. Mek said:

\'I laid down to get some rest, but woke up floating away.
I\'m in an ocean now, drowning I say.
Suffocating on an unending pour,
I wake up outside your door.

Dancing in the rain,
outside your door.\'
this is so relatable, reminds me
of Dickens\' portrayal of unrequited, yet devoted love
in \'a tale of two Cities\'
especially how Sydney paces the streets outside
Lucie\'s house, every night;
its like your words capture that desperate scene
so well,
at least for me anyway, lol
a great read thanks for sharing

Done Wrong
L. B. Mek said:

(what a quirky and wonderful read you\'ve shared
and thanks for inspiring my little scribbled reply, dear poet)..
\'those \'lost-in-translation\' - conversations
clouding our history: of failed relationships...
so then, we are back at that unending, starting-line
deep breaths, shallow steps - onwards
to that next opportunity, we yearn - doggedly
to not waste: again...\'

A Dance
L. B. Mek said:

(an intriguing read,
and thanks for inspiring my little scribbled reply dear poet)
we are but fallible human\'s, after all
although - once we\'ve inked words
of such self-revealing insight
we have no place to hide
for Acting - on
those Unsavoury and animalistic Urges...
(let us always: Strive to Better
those Based - and shadow-less, aspects
within our Self loathingly, weak-willed traits
of depraved Cruelty: we are All born
with the Capacity to Inflict, thoughtlessly...!)
\'So instead:
Choosing to Love - considerately
as We, also
would like to be appreciated - Amorously\'

Bury me alone

I really like this poem. It’s dark, I like dark. I especially like the line \"Like a mirror broke from the inside out,” but it’s impact seems to deflate with the next line \"Does that make any sense to you?” maybe that’s just me, but it’s a really good poem overall.

The way you repeated the lines, and the mention of singing, makes me think this was a song with the music stripped away. If not, it totally could be.

Just as I close my weary eyes.
I was scared at first and then always\'..

Island
L. B. Mek said:

it feels that way, I think most can relate to your depiction of stale: self-inflicted solitude..
but islands are connected by the sea, like we - to society
and what more connection to everything in existence, do we need
than water, we just need to give-up that tap of easy access
and go outside to excavate, our own pools
while connecting with those like-minded
aquifer - integrity: enthusiasts...

Government
Tamara Beryl Latham - The Poet said:

Very powerful! I enjoyed your sociopolitical statement and often have similar feelings.

I\'m new to this site and are unable to determine whether what is posted is considered a poem (classical or free verse) or prose, etc.

Is there some type of topic to be checked for each submitted form or is it all just considered poetry?

Thanks for your input.

Best,

Tamara Beryl Latham
