by brevity of skilled artistry
exemplifying: poetic release
as an infinite source
of self-expression fuelled solace..
a brilliant write, in my humble opinion, thanks for choosing to share dear poet

I must admit that I do fear for the future and despite being apolitical, I am very much aware that there are some extremely dangerous individuals that hold high office around the globe who care nothing about their fellow countrymen, any other, or indeed the world in general .......

A republic, if you can keep it

dear Poet, how accessible you word your complex thoughts..
here is my redundant theory, its a freebie:
\'so many finding driving our vehicles so easy,
so much so we\'re handed keys
to \'weapons of mass destruction\' - at barely 16..
why? cause we\'re so used to looking out, in every direction - its ingrained into our very essence \'of self\' from an early age..
later, at arrival some very few (and fewer with time) individuals, take a second to glimpse back
into \'that integral\' internal space within our vehicles, to see all that dirt we\'ve been driving - alongside..
meanwhile, as we head to get that essential fuel: we\'re murmuring our complaints
about all those other idiots, who can\'t drive - to save their lives...\'

Democracy appears to be lost in our world, no matter how people deserve equality there are always those who think they are better and force their ideas on others.

These issues are so complex. ‘Republic’ and ‘Democracy’ each have many potential definitions with subtle differences attached that they render themselves virtually useless in any debate.
The problem is, however clear enough and as well defined by you as any with the bonus of attractive versification. But its solution will not be solved by utilizing either of these as a banner under which to march.
Political activism, even if only engagement where possible in open debate, is one way to go. Hold our politicians (typically there are one or two good ‘uns) to account, not, definitely not just at the ballot box, and then think duty done.
Must stop now otherwise I don’t think I’d manage to…
As implied above, thanks for the verse.

Was USA ever a true democracy in anything other than just the word.?? When some people are \'less equal\' than others it can hardly be a true democracy.
Anyhow, just as you state, it is a republic. A republic conning the world that it is a democracy.

dear insightful Poet, may I humbly suggest you look past \'their\' games of \'taking sides\',
I am not judging or criticising, merely daring to share an unpopular opinion, so please take no offence, I beg...
\'my message is as simple as: peace, in the eyes of those who recognise their own dirt within each bloody tear - they\'ve spilled...\'
why must \'democracy\' be belittled to the realms of \'byte\' sized consumption? for ease of access? so that our \'plug n play\' society of cesspool conformity can \'pick\' easily...
if democracy is the best interpretation of \'freedom\' within a \'political\' framework, why can\'t we perceive it as a \'pick n mix\' buffet...
where we prioritise a party\'s \'actionable plan\' of policies over \'their\' fallible \'flesh n blood\' representatives,
why must we distil every opportunity for our representation to two limiting paths, how long do we dwell on \'good vs bad\' as our only alternatives within existence...
\'why must everything come down to battle lines and fences, where we project all our rage to the opposing side and save all our empathy for those on \'our\' side...\'
it\'s 2021? when will we \'majority\' stop being taken for fool\'s?
\'it\'s oppression strategy 1 of one:
\'divide to conquer\'....
and here we are, letting ourselves be divided into
politics\' bunker\'s of self-identity,\' where we feed extremism all the ingredients necessary, then stare down and judge it\'s \'taste or appearance on our horizon\'s platter, acting ignorant of the bitterness it stemmed from\'...
will we ever take accountability for each and every decision we make individually and its consequences globally/universally in this era of interconnectivity...
Life is no mere on/off simplicity of electricity, we are not binary programmed robots,
we are nature\'s creatures \'still\' evolving with our connection to sentient experience\'s, so let us act accordingly and take ownership of our own lives - first!
why must we be dictated to, how is that any better than being subjugated?
let us, instead - empower ourselves: to think, our own thought\'s and then match them to \'Policies\' that best represent the answers to our need\'s,
knowing sometimes, we may not find a policy to match with and having the \'bravery to wait\' and demand for representative\'s that can provide us with what we need, never \'settling\' for what\'s \'good enough\' for us to \'align\' with in the short-sighted hope that we can guarantee our inclusion and have \'our self-worth justified\' by those: far - far more \'LOST\', than we are...
(forgive my tirade, feel free to delete this comment, I understand completely)
but I humbly thank you for inspiring my little reply all the same, sorry politics is a trigger topic and I lack the self control to simply: ignore

In a world consumed with the ethic of \'more more more\' it is refreshing to see within your words the fine message that contentment with sufficient is plenty.

Just as was evident before we saw the recent attempts to claw back some decency in the face of utter humiliation brought to those republicans with a semblance of conscience by the buffoon Trump. He seems to have brought about the largest ever display of a split america since the civil war.
