Those \'jewels and treasures\' will always be there to remind you of joyous days in the past and tell you that life was good. You may struggle to do them now but at least you did them and that is good.

I\'m 100% with you on this.... in my heart i am a fell walker but in my boots i struggle to walk around town (lockdown permitting).

When lockdown is over I plan to go travelling all over the place - I wonder how far my ailments will allow me to go.

My hobbie and me
Goldfinch60 said:

I too am passionate about cooking and can get completely lost in it so any problems that may be with me just seem to disappear.
During the first lockdown when we went out every Thursday to clap I started to bake bread for my neighbours and at one time was know as the baker of the street. I still make bread for others and if they are lucky they get homemade digestives, shortbread and ginger snaps.
I do hope that your pain eases Heather and that you can cook without pain but just with love.

The things we do..... You said it well. My wife had a small bakery for years. She closed it and retired just before Covid started. Best decision ever! You say you did it for a living, so you know how different home baking and professional baking are.
But getting back to your poem. I like the way you write, your pain but also your feelings of accomplishment shine through.

Sometimes our hobbies become us. We become know as a baker etc with little else about our colourful lives being known or cared about.

Such a shame about your pain, I feel so lucky as I normally sleep quite well and am grateful for that.

Good words Heather.

Great writing HeatherBee! I do have arthritis but I am one of the lucky ones who can sleep right through the pain. The hurt starts after I get up, but goes away after moving around a little.

Pain certainly isolates and especially in lockdown needs to be admonished just as you write here dear Heather - - hoping your Mr Pain takes the hint and stays well away.

Pain filled words indeed.

Have you considered writing without rhyme. Most of my stuff doesn\'t rhyme these days and i find it frees me up to say much more than i can when i have to find a rhyme. You are obviously a natural writer and i make this suggestion as a way of hopefully giving food for thought.
