Hats off to those teachers who could actually teach us something when all we wanted to do was fool around. Enjoyed your expressive writing Heatherbee.

Memories of schooldays a very long time ago, for the most part for me they are good memories, I left school in 1965 and then worked unstopped for 47 years and one month.

Formative years. I reflected back to some of my schoolday experiences upon reading this. Many stay with you don\'t they. Plenty were milestones in learning subjects not on the syllabus. So much learning crammed into our young lives, not just at school though, where does learning ever stop?

a fun read, nostalgic indeed
thanks for sharing dear poet, I agree its not always good to go back, some memories are best kept as mementos, for reliving and retracing tends to lessen our reverie\'s perception

Memories of Dreamland in Margate come to mind when I was a kid so many, many years ago.
Thank you for bringing back those memories. Never did win a goldfish!

Over tired kiddies with sticky pink candy floss stained faces sob and complain before back seat sleep finds them being carried to bed. Older sister wants a jam jar for yer poly bag goldfish. Mum\'s stuffed toy placed next to a sleeping head. Smiles of parental contentment and a cup of tea.
I like it when posted poetry takes me there and i live a bit of it. See what you did?

Have some experience, however, with depression it can be very challenging.
If it is a chemical imbalance there are meds to correct if not
Dusk is correct get help form people who are having the

I read your \'authors comment\'. It\'s so important to keep in communication when a loved one is low. Mum\'s and sons aren\'t always the easiest of relationships and i know that can be very trying when all mum wants to do is be loving and caring.
Hard though it is, sometimes it can be easier for a male feeling low to talk to someone outside the family scene.
There is help and a listening ear available through the local authority backed \'Here2Help\' set up in all areas. Just a thought.
You poem, in conversational style, really brings home the dilemma.

The Dancer

That takes me back to the last century where the girls danced around their handbags and the boys stood around the edges with their pints in their hands drinking up the courage to ask a girl to dance.
Great write and memories Heather.

Wow yeah this is a superb poem on the routine and replay of life, its nitty gritty and all. You expressed that in a fab way even if in a wry sigh so poetically. Kudos!!

The story of all our sad lives at the moment Heatherbee, though aptly told here.
I\'m going to have to try and put your arm up your back to get you to comment on some of the other good and regular poetry posted here on MPS you know. You are a good and welcome member of this lil old community of writers and it would be grand to see you interacting with some of us with your comments..... nudge nudge.

My valentine
L. B. Mek said:
What a brilliantly relatable dedication you\'ve penned dear Poet
so grounded, as true as that feel of grass in your grasp, as wonderous as that sunshine warmth on your cheeks: whilst toiling over your fields...
superheroes all: who
choose to do add value
to everything in their lives
by simply, admiring it - for what it is
not needing to glorify
or valuate, in order to appreciate...
