Normal...right?
Doggerel Dave said:

\"I hate myself and I hate my life
But I\'m a teenager so it\'s normal right?\"
Yes, absolutely - you are in possibly the worst time of your life. It is completely bloody awful. You are dependent on others for everything, no autonomy, power, ability to make your own decisions and so on (not to mention the problems of puberty). I can only advise to hang on there - it will get better. (and I can only hope you get there and then try to help make society better for those following).

I love you....well platonically anyway

The title of this poem is literally sending me right now!!

I will make sure to send this poem to my future ex!!

Also the way you\'re 3 years younger than I am and already have had relationships is causing me low-key depression.

I have never kissed anyone, and merely drown in the presence of good-looking men

A letter for you, and only you.

Oh poet... I hope you know you are not alone. As a member of the queer community who has severe issues with my own father I understand your rage. I see the pain. You say you\'re on the verge of another attempt, but I have one request. Write another poem. Everyday, write a poem about why you are so angry, so pained, so that someday someone sees your work and knows that you didn\'t live in vain. You can inspire others to write about their lives and to be as incredible poet as you. Keep writing my darling, the world waits for your words. I\'m on the edge of my seat.

Rocky Lagou said:

Literally, literalllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, my life in a nutshell. My relationship with my father is as turbulent as it gets, and to see there are other queer individuals out there who can relate to my struggle is so uplifting. We are a network, a community, who must support each other. Just know that you are who you are and no-one can change that. The way you ended this poem with an italicized “son” is so powerful. You are loved, please don’t forget that. I have a rant here on MPS directed to my own dad, I’ll link it to this comment if you’re interested:

I hope this isn\'t serious. If no-one appears to care, know that I do. I could\'ve done the same thing multiple times, but I\'m so grateful that my rational side took control of the situation before it was too late. There are so many teens just like us, hopeless, lost, marginalized. But keep in mind that life is only a snippet of what\'s to come, so live it to the fullest, even in the depths of darkness. And when the light is nowhere to be found, embrace the inner light that is bestowed upon you from birth, I\'ve learned to nurture it and love it in my loneliest nights. \"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.\"

I literally adore the rhyme scheme and alliteration you maintained throughout the poem. A \"Soft Scent Slowly,\" a \"Dainty Delighted Deer.\" I\'m enamored by your words and I love the fact this is brought up from your ideas of freedom. Nature can really be an escape from the chaotic world. Absolutely wonderful.

Acceptance
Rocky Lagou said:

Omg NO please don\'t break! I love YOU! I feel like this a poem about the lack of acceptance from someone who opposes your sexuality. If so, I recommend reading my poem \"My Silent Protest\" I literally go off on my homophobic dad. But listen, even when people don\'t accept you, I totally understand still feeling that love for them. We (as the LGBTQ+ community) just have to understand that not everybody is going to \"get it.\" People are ignorant. But we are more open-minded than the ones who oppose us, so it\'s our duty to continue loving them despite that tension. Great poem! 💖
