The Everyone

I think the way the site works, you probably read about twenty poets, though there\'s probably hundreds more you miss. I think the site should have put some sort of tribute up to, RubyRae, maybe a poem every day for a week.

And dear poet, you\'ve truly done your part greatly. Although you didn\'t get to participate on the fusioned poem, you honestly spoke so much truth through your words. It can feel like nobody understands our pain, and everyone else is just ignorant. Hope this can arouse sympathy in people!

Wow. So I\'m really getting that sensation in a relationship in which one is doing all the \"giving\" with nothing in return. This really reminds me of a lyric from my favorite R&B singer called SZA in which she sings, \"I gotta keep from losin\' the rest of me / Still worry that I wasted the best of me on you, babe, You don\'t care.\" Must be pretty rough, especially with that unfortunate ending. Hope everything\'s okay!

Wow. That was quite real. I\'d rank it next to Sexton\'s \"The Balled of the Lonely Masturbator.\" πŸ‘

Not sure if this is projection of guilt, or self loathing.... either way, life is hard and unkind. To measure her worth by her clear ability to please the narrator only to be ridiculed says much more than her own actions. Grace isn\'t purity, and this poem isn\'t about love. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for providing this thought

Yes! The \"average man.\" It\'s generic and outdone. We need diversity in our world! Nice poem! πŸ’–

I honestly love poetry that\'s \"confusing.\" Because that\'s the whole point of poetry: It looks like a lot of nonsense at first but after digging deeper and deeper and interpreting each line it all connects to form something grand. πŸ’–

I have been presenting lectures to numerous groups of people over the years, from students to colleagues to others. And still feel some anxiety before I speak. Once I get going it\'s fine.
So when I first joined this site with a poem (only started writing during this pandemic), I was anxious about sharing. But the friends on this site have been very encouraging and I have learnt much from them.
Your poem is excellent reflecting exactly my fears and many others.
Just Do It (I\'m not from Nike)! You\'ll be fine.

Details are important. However sometimes I spend too much time with them and loose the overall glow. I loved this piece and gave me a good deal of thought and reflection.

Statue Upon A Hill

Very well inked dear poet
With excellent imagery gilded upon the statue
Indeed media controls the masses
The one for our entertainment, now simply rules us
Keep penning dear poet
Thanks for sharing
And welcome to MPS

The fear does cloud
Anxiety holds upon
Reading those lines, I gulped the past times
When heart throbbed a bit faster
And mind felt confused
But with the stage, and the love for speaking …ended up loving the spotlight
Thank you so much for this wonderful poetry
It made me nostalgic

We would go mad though (insane) if we stopped to think at EVERY poem what EVERY one was thinking of it! Or else, we would never write ANY thing!
We can have some \'feeling\' that we are framing our poems to please as many as possible. But really, we should just be ourselves, I think.
I\'m thinking more about writing poems here, than about presenting them.
