Strummin' an' humming' "Swanee River" or some old Country Song we all know so we can join in an' stop a while to enjoy. Always a doggy an' "Ole Shep" was one oft he first Country Songs Elvis ever sang as a boy ! You have evoked memories and tugged at my guitar strings ! Sounds of the South ~ melodies of Paradise ! I have friends whose father's were captains (ship and planes) and a brother in the army,who has served for the NATO Forces,so I think, I know....
I also remembered from J.Conrad's 'To - morrow':
"It was as if the sea,breaking down the wall protecting all the homes of the town,had sent a wave over her head...."
