Oglala Lament: December, 1890 (+1)

Kurt,
While reading āOglala Lament: December, 1890ā, I envisioned that solemn tear falling upon Crazy Horseās cheek. It nudged me to revisit āSearching For Crazy Horseā and be reminded of the decimation of whole tribes and villages and the slaughter of millions of buffaloes; unnecessary destruction by the Wasichus!!

Do Over

Ah the fabled Do-Over... has a horn of pearl on its forehead. There\'s the impossible do-over, and the restorative do-over. Both are elusive but one can be summoned with enough effort and hope.

Kurt,
After reading these two couplets, I shall be busy for quite a while.
Thank you for sharing your pen.
Understanding

is worthy of a revisit.

Kurt,
Reading āFlotsam & Jetsamā has made me think of some eulogies Iāve heard and wondered how the deceased, if he/she were alive listening to their eulogy, would react.
I enjoyed reading your two gems.

Very rich imagery, a little elusive, yet clear. I had to go back to the title. I enjoy how the title enriches the poem. I found myself wondering if the speaker would catch that last ride \"home.\"

Fantasia
L. B. Mek said:
hindsight often has the luxury of relaxed perspectives, that the turmoil of existence in the now -between one hurdle and the next bite of sustenance we must hunt - doesn\'t allow,
so naturally we are flawed creatures but that undeniable truth, of yearning to be the best we can be, has merit in its own right I think
so we must accept and appreciate ourselves, before others can do the same for us
engaging writing, asking necessary questions

Nicely done... you evoke many thoughts, emotions, sounds, and even possible plots-- who is down under, what do they cry, why is there thunder and that precise moment? In so few elegant words.
