Incredible poems!

The first poem fascinates me because each time I read it, I have a different interpretation! After the first read, it felt like the first time I experienced a panic attack! After the second read, it felt like I was remembering the time I gave birth to my son where I almost died due to an anesthesiologist’s error! There are more examples, but I won’t bore you with them!

“Stars & Stripes”...
Celebrating freedom!
I will never forget the night I disembarked the ship that brought me to America and saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time (and the Domino sign)!

“Last Tear”...
This one has several very personal meanings for me!

“Cancer”...
This one is relatable to many of us.
For me, too many names to list.
Actually, at the moment, my 40 year old friend is receiving chemo treatments for breast cancer!

Art and politics are two things that cannot be separated, and although there are some pieces that express their political views through art, I find nothing inherently wrong or disparaging about it. Art can\'t be defined, it serves as a form of expression about our politics, culture, overall identity, and it exists to display many other ideas and concepts as well. Politics is simply another lens through which we knowingly or unknowingly create our art. To finish up my rambling, I have to say bravo, all these poems were brilliant reads!
