Swirls and Straights

I feel the emotion of your poem, and understand that first step taken. It\'s a little like stepping into a lukewarm pool, gradually easing yourself down, until you\'re submerged and your body has adapted to the temperature. It\'s easy to say trust yourself, but life experience is great teacher, be patient. In my 73rd year I can tell you that it\'s incredible, when you look back and realize how many things you did right. A very good write!

do your own \'adult\'
follow your own path!
the key, is as early as possible
to start trusting yourself
empower your choices by believing
and realising
what is right, is anchored
in those choices where your heart is calm
but your mind is panicking
never the other way around
oh and laugh
be it on your own or in a group of judgemental eyes
laugh, deep from your belly button
and allow your breath to taste sweet
even for a flittingly glimpse second
then look around you and realise
you\'re not an adult or a child
you, are just: You!
and that\'s beautiful in and of itself!
\'I wish you the very best of life\'s
mistakes, tears, smiles
broken hearts and victories with their somber happily-ever-after\'s\'
(Have Fun and Enjoy the ride
in but a blink, our blank canvas future\'s
become our life-stained yesterday\'s)

Still Waiting on Your Call

(simply beautiful,
thank you for intrusting us with such private words)
I hope next year, will be that little bit easier
but that in 7 years time
your feelings wont have forgotten the warmth imbued in these letters,
see
I feel, when people share
a little bit of themselves with us
its to help us, survive
the gruelling trials of life
and even if what they share, begins
with us going through such a hard time
what\'s important
is how, that shard of them which lingers within us
marinates and evolves, over time
from being a painful weakness
to that furnace, that helped forge
our own iron will of belief;
and doing so, with them firmly
by our side
so they may share, in our
delights and despair of existence,
so later on
in that unknown eternal, I like to think
of our eventual home
we can all share a smile, catching-up
on all the bruises we\'ve accumulated, side by side

Just a Person
dusk arising said:
Makes me uncomfortable when people apologise for their right to be whatever they want to be (within the bounds of the law of course) because, just as you state, you are human with every right to be all the things u mention.
Being all those things is being an honest person too isn\'t it?

I can relate, I suppose at times we who face adversity don\'t always feel like the person we look at in the mirror. State of mind changes our thoughts of ourselves and how we and others look at ourselves. Deep down we\'re all the same walking through our lives wondering if people see the real you or me. Beautiful write

A different kind of thought

Well written and interesting poem. Made me think. It is also very timely if we look at how little people interact on a one-on-one basis instead of through texting, facebook, twitter, etc.
Well done!

We might not be able to give all because we are flesh and bone, but we can always point to the love that can. Warm welcome!
