Questions that time will tell. A provocative poem that as all good poems do ask tough questions. With engaging rhyme it holds attention with pertinent questions about religion, culture and society. Nicely done and a fave

Cancer III
Friendship said:

This poem resonates deeply with me as I reflect on the courageous journey of my beloved husband, { Of 47 years who bravely battled cancer for two and a half years, enduring the relentless progression of the disease that slowly drained his life force; before his passing, after completing radiation and chemotherapy, he experienced a poignant moment when he was given the honor of ringing a bell, a symbol often associated with the end of treatment; his insightful words to me remain etched in my memory, \'it\'s a peculiar sensation when you\'re done with treatment and they\'re handing you a certificate, and they ask you to ring this bell, signifying that you\'re acknowledging your journey\'; these profound words have stayed with me, and I believe this poem captures that sentiment beautifully. Your poem revolves around the biological process of cell growth and the painful consequences of illness. It evokes feelings of helplessness and inevitability as it describes how these cells thrive on the host\'s resources, signifying the struggle between life and disease.

This poem seems to say that a false hope is better than no hope and I might agree with that in that all the really matters is happiness. A powerful statement

The Black Tracks of Mulberry - Reprise & the Rule of 14
sorenbarrett said:

Strange fruit is the song that comes to mind. This is a noble effort to take poetry to story telling in more than a narrative poem but in a mix of prose and verse. A challenging effort that you handled well in this dark tale of a gothic nature. Nicely done and a fave for the courage

How interesting that sex or things related to it are used by language to equate with perversion and low life. A most interesting poem that is powerful and angry in tone. Well written it flows well. Nicely done

A grim and dark poem of a narrative and ballad nature that tells its tale of the forbidden. It reminded me of that song by Nina Simone strange fruit.
