What a poet is
Dolphine29 said:

I really like your poem!!!
It makes me wonder, what is a poet but what we see in our worlds reflected on our desires.
Sometimes we are brave enough to let others see inside and that makes the poet known but also brave.

I AM A PURE VIRGIN

Dear Cheeky, From the picture I can't say whether she is a virgin or not.Any how she is sure of losing her virginhood.I think, as you said, she fits well for the images.so I have selected it.Thanks for your comments and ratings

I AM A PURE VIRGIN
Cheeky Missy said:

Frankly, you remind me of your denunciation of Valentines' Day as an odious day for lust. Her look doesn't befit a virgin, and the poem following, beautiful in its metaphors, excellently suits the look in her eyes, and virginity seems as far from the scene as true love. Sarcastic?

What a poet is
Cheeky Missy said:

A beautiful, lofty, idealistic depiction of the poet, which if 'twere true, would make poetry more worthwhile, and more desirable. Unfortunately, I beg to differ IF this is endeavoring to describe all modern poets...for so many of us, seem merely intent on spewing forth whatever we feel most impassioned about, resulting in not a few vile pieces, self-centred despairing pieces and a general reflection of the rotten condition of modern man....But then again, perhaps that makes your point that "the poet" writes a reflection of his fellows. I personally deplore the decay of all art, as visible in music, literature, painting/sculpting from the enlightened renaissance to the twentieth century to the present day....which seems to me to aptly depict the corruption and loss of almost all beauty and good apparently abounding everywhere, which if we would aspire to write good poetry, we must seriously struggle to overcome in our lines, putting forth a return to such loftiness while all around us screams hellishly of demise.
Thanks for this presentation of the ideal poet,...a call, as it were, to return to virtue if we would truly be poets.

POLITICS IN DEMOCRACY
Cheeky Missy said:

Delightful! This is a rather amusing tribute to an only too familiar political party. You expressed it frankly with a welcome touch of humor...I enjoyed, though in reality it is not amusing.

THE QUEEN OF ALL SPEAKERS
Cheeky Missy said:

Lovely! Beautiful tribute to my mother tongue, which interestingly dominates, apparently. Your touch of rhyming and rythm was too enjoyable, as you led us through this delightful tribute to English, for now the queen. I liked the angles you presented it from and enjoyed this ode very much! As for spelling....ya, I've heard English is murderously contradictory....therefore all the more honor to you brave souls who master it as a second language.

A PLEA TO GOD

Ah, my dear brother....but you are too sweet....naming off your poetic loves here...and we love you too!! Only I am not so fit to be composing so very well as this of all my darlings. This is delightful! Excellent!!! Beautiful tribute to some of your friends here, this site that connects us, and our hobby......I quite enjoyed it! And so glad we all met here. I quite like the image too....nicely fitting, though not of us.

FRIENDSHIP LIKE THE SUN
Cheeky Missy said:

Fascinating analogy. I agree, you are calling for true friends not the all too common pseudo variety....definitely. But then, true friendship seems a gift, and therefore a treasure to carefully nourish and cherish forever, just as you say, that plant growing forever in our hearts. I enjoyed this...very nice!

RURAL FAIRIES' PLANTATION
Cheeky Missy said:

The picture is nicely fitting and so pleasant a scene to look at while reading the poem. It is pleasant poem in tribute to the blessing of fruitfulness, the enjoyment of it in progress, with a nice allusion to God's salvation. Beautiful. I enjoyed it and picturing the scene as you painted it with words in the imagination.

MOTHER EARTH
georgina hudson said:

Thank you Mr Rao for your tremendous generosity. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read your dedication. It's a really moving gift. I do like the term Mother Earth. It's a great symbol of how much life takes place on our planet. You chose a very nice simile.
It's the very best gift you could have ever given me, my friend!
Pregnancy and later motherhood are the celebration of a miracle. Being happy and grateful are great ways to pamper myself and my child.
Many thanks again!!!
PS I'm still struggling to write blogs and even post comments. I feel so drowsy most of the time! I hope you understand your poem is beautiful. What I value the best is that you thought about us! Cheers!

OH! MY DEAR CHILD
Cheeky Missy said:

Aw, the happy little nursing daughter is too adorably sweet! Perfect image for the initial stanza. It is a fascinating, rather intriguing piece....surely such is not truly the case...the offspring need not spurn or injure the parent to succeed...surely it is not so. And then I tread cautiously for the concluding stanza...who is the "He" referring to? If it is the Lord our maker, yes, we did only evil towards Him and yet His laying down His life and resurrecting is our salvation, though by our hands He was crucified. In that the poem makes more sense...it is all referring to that? and yet our evil against Him was is not justified nor the means we rise...it is all His goodness, mercy, righteousness...His glory....but I am only a girl, to be so boldly speaking....please forgive me if I have at all instructed.

THE SEASONAL HARVEST
Cheeky Missy said:

I love the picture with it, which reading it, seems so perfectly fitting, excepting the lady in the lead left off to wear it on her head. Sweet and lovely/loving tribute to the blessing and labour of harvest! Is it harvest right now where you are? (I have a couple harvest poems, but they are set in October, so I've a long while if I wait 'til then to post.) I enjoyed this fantasy...does it signify something deeper since it is a fantasy?

Now, for all the times I've heard the odious term "mother earth"...you finally made it seem to make sense. Very fascinating delineation of sorts. Thank you. While I still abhor the devilish term and idea, now it makes a little sense.

SHE IS A POETIC MUSE
Cheeky Missy said:

Ah, my dear elder brother, and with the exulting blonde beginning the poem and colouring our initial impressions of the poem....who is "she"???? Let me try....the moon again?! I give up! But I loved your similes and metaphors....it was a fascinating puzzle which I can't figure out....unless my guess is correct?!
