BREATHING IT IN

Rain is really amazing in what it can do both in reality and in our minds.

IT WAS YESTERDAY
L. B. Mek said:

beautifully worded, relatability is so underappreciated
as an integral quality: of True artistry
keep climbing Poetry\'s endless peaks, we scribblers - few
are right there, scrambling our way - in your footsteps, dear poet...

TRAVELERS
L. B. Mek said:

wonderfully serene words that seep-in: soothingly, ever subtly..
reminds me of Tang Dynasty poetry, in style
like that of Li Po (or Li Bai.. etc):
\'You ask me why I dwell in the green mountain;
I smile and make no reply for my heart is free of care.
As the peach-blossom flows down stream and is gone into the unknown,
I have a world apart that is not among men.\'
from an abbreviated version of his Poetry
sometimes titled \'Green Mountain\':

BACK LOT
L. B. Mek said:

a vivid read, I get a yearning for a past that can never be re-lived
and that old age, creeping-up: on all of us
insuring, we\'ll end-up:
\'red chipped
clapboard sided
railroad station\'
\'chain locked doors
weeds between tracks,
broken glass\'
in memories of those loved one\'s: we live behind...
(a wonderful read, thanks for sharing)

NIGHT CANDLES
L. B. Mek said:

I like the crisp imagery adding to the relatability of your write
but sadly I lack the IQ capacity, to unfurl its message or meaning
(if any specific, was meant to be conveyed)..
still, I found this an enjoyable read

BROKEN HEART
L. B. Mek said:

(a wonderfully worded read!
and thanks for inspiring my little scribbled reply)..
...\'and once you\'ve learnt to squeeze-out
that remnant of love\'s: tepid breath
you\'ll once more, attend a dancehall or two
look-for a new partner, to pass the time
then - before you know it
breathing is once again, as easy
as that beat you\'re timing
each effortlessly synchronised - step, to
and inside, you push back
hope\'s: yearning hands
suppressing magnetic chemistry
by doing maths - in your head, like
1, 2, 3, - 1, 2, 3, and one, two: those eyes, lips
and maybe - someday, me...\'

GRAVESIDE PRIEST
L. B. Mek said:

I read this write as a dedication to a beloved, who met with that final rest of fate
and in that sense, these words can represent
wonderful words of comfort..

BROKEN SOUNDS
L. B. Mek said:

a brilliant write! in my humble opinion
wonderful imagery, and an intriguing journey within words that I can\'t help but translate through my rose tinted glasses for those elysian fields of timeless wisdom:
\'starting, with those last minutes of Socrates
where it must have felt like - all of existence, paused
passing-by that Greek wedding, dance of plates
where Plato slept his final rest
and eases us gently, to our now
of romanticised tragedy, when we presume
surely: this - is as broken, as we get...\'
(please forgive me for indulging in my own translation of your work, I mean no disrespect dear poet)

AND NOT AT ALL, TOO
L. B. Mek said:

\'a eulogy
to the area between
where safety
treats a shadow
with a name
as if a friend\'..
had to read this five or more times, for my limited IQ to comprehend just how profound and insightful your words capture the \'far too ugly\' - veracity, of our cripplingly degrading reality:
we lucky few with relationships to lean-on
do so, while busily marking out our own safety zones
families going for days without a word spoken between them
not out of animosity or lingering quarrels, instead
as our adopted natural state, huddled in-front of handheld screens
where strangers indulge our weakness to procrastinations - whim
and consequence is dealt with by a mere delete button
existing a mere backspace away - to that quick escape
from our abundance of ignorant mistakes..
who needs words like duty, integrity and introspection
in pixel screen realm\'s
where right and wrong, is just a matter of perception..
purposely regressing
our evolutionary need to progress - willingly
because cup-noodles are but 50p
and our tap water runs free,
why harbour ambitions
when we can dream-up our own solace
to that nightmare circumstance of failure
from a few sips of short-lived alcoholic distractions
or chain smoke those fears
into that polluting dust of marginalised regret..
soon: they will start surgically inserting circuit boards
in our heads - to counteract the damage
from generationally inept development
of our collective intellect
and the tabloids will be highlighting
jus how much demand surpasses - supply...
