how firm is the ground on which you stand?

This is full-blown cerebral ecstasy. I am literally captivated by your artistry and the way you\'ve so gracefully conducted your words in this poem. I feel like this piece can be a nod to depression or overall mental health and as a person who suffers with it daily I can tell you that you hit it right on the mark. You said it relates to \"visa issues\" and I can also sense that sort of \"exile\" state that the speaker may be experiencing. Thank you for this, it\'s wonderful.

like threatening war, over water
that\'s fed, generations
of your most peaceful, neighbour..
(but, if we don\'t
at such a young age, learn
to look away, at all the ugly
around us
I doubt, half of us
\'the empathetic, half\'
could make it to adulthood;
its just, once
we make it to adulthood
we soon, make-up
a portion of the ugly, we still
so adamantly
refuse to acknowledge, just
so we can survive
a life, we
in actuality, hate
such is that conflicting, duality
in all-things, fallible humanity)
thanks for sharing
such an intriguing write
although i fear, I read your poem
a little - too, personally
forgive me..

This poem possesses such a beautiful, lilting quality. You treat it gently, with lovely rhymes that speak of love lost, sadly unfulfilled. A good write dear poetess.

I can certainly relate to this poem. The ghosts come and go, especially the older we get, and our perspective may shift with time. I love the way you have treated this subject!

so relatable, and wonderfully succinct
thanks for sharing, dear poet
and for inspiring my attempt
at a little poetic reply
(betwixt hope and scope
exists, our insecurity\'s-phobe
finding holes in fate\'s plotlines
convinced
we were born with losing lottery
tickets
and so we curate our horizons
devoid of scope for any, hope...)

blame comes, fingerless
