Rather , when fantasy is replaced by emptiness —to my ear is more consistent to the exvelkent mood and motion of the piece ?!!

Just finished reading The Neighbor....laughed out loud at the last 3 lines! We poets are, for the most part, very gently (and old) souls. But, I would haved been pissed off too!
