We really do destroy nature, do we not? And, we destroy our own nature and identity in doing so. A most beautiful poem that speaks in equal measure beauty and urgency. Well done! 🌹👏

The vary wording and metaphors in this write make it most intriguing and as one reads on it has more and more hooks that take one to a faintly remembered place of origin. Lovely

A well written piece. I felt at one with nature. I see the circle of life and the connections to it that come back around to us. Thank you for sharing.

Love this. A beautiful poem rich in imagery in and metaphor. Well done, my friend! This was masterful, as Soren rightly wrote, and rather than repeat what he wrote, I will simply say. Brava! An obvious fave from me as well. 🌹👏

A beautiful work this poem uses vivid and identifiable imagery to paint a picture in the mind of the reader and then takes that image in such poetic form to sprout a feeling of compassion for what we normally ignore. There are several beautiful lines in this poem my favorite are the last two stanzas
staples stacked lavished leathery scent
from each bovine hide scarlet dried
blood songs are sung
through roughed vales
meandering green pastures
ethereally we still graze
There is a wonderful metaphor here as well that I need not go into but is reflected in that mirror mentioned in the poem. This is a masterpiece of work and is a fave without saying

The use of variegated alliteration in this poem pulls the reader along. Unexpected associations dot the landscape and paint a Salvador Dahil like painting. Nicely done

The norse gods and goddesses summoned in a poem that most captivates the imagination and the heart. Indeed, \"love is the only way to remember\". Brilliant, Rian, brilliant! 🌹👏

Like sparks off a fire brief flashes glow and then extinguish into darkness in this poem. These images pass yet there remains a light that glows. Lovely and warming. Particularly like the last stanza.

I can see that bird, seagull maybe?, barely escaping the swell of the wave. Wonderful oceanic poem, my friend. I can smell the saltwater in this. Brilliantly penned. This easily gets a fave 🤩 from me. And, oh my, welcome to MPS. Very much looking forward to reading more from you, Rian! 🌹👏
