Through A Glass Lightly

Kurt,

The table is set and ready for the lunch weā€™re about to enjoy.
While Iā€™m waiting for my auntā€™s favorite Saturday lunch (a Margherita pizza with a glass of wine), I decided to read some of todayā€™s posted poetry. I noticed your poemā€™s titleā€¦and here I am I staring at my auntā€™s wine glass which sheā€™ll soon imbibe its contents.
What does any of this have to do with your poem? Nothing! Iā€™m just enjoying the coincidence of the glass and itā€™s timing.

A very interesting ā€˜Dreamsleepā€™ā€¦short but powerful!

Have a wonderful weekend, my dear Poet.

Kurt,

O\' the loving nightingaleā€¦
ā€˜Beauty to beautyā€™ indeed.

Not only so many thoughts and feelings were evoked within me while reading your wonderful short but powerful poem; it also reminded me of Oscar Wildeā€™s short story, ā€œThe Nightingale and the Roseā€ā€¦although a tragic fantasy story, it had many other themes to reflect upon.

Thank you for sharing.

Kurt,

ā€¢ ā€œTwilight Disconnectā€
These nights are prone to get longer and longer.

ā€¢ ā€œTo Glen Campbellā€
One of my favorite artistsā€¦
obviously for his songs
and his
ā€˜twelve stringed harpā€™ā€¦.
(Thanks to my aunt for introducing me to that one).

ā€¢ ā€œA Silent Tollā€
ā€˜Are you everything you could have been,ā€™ā€¦
Hoping to have the chance to find out.

Three great reads for this long night.

The vinyl record player is readyā€¦

Fault Lines
LaurašŸŒ» said:

Kurt,

ā€¢ ā€œFault Linesā€
A great title for your thought provoking poem.

ā€˜Fault linesā€™ are created due to much stress.

The first two words really got me thinking.
These ā€˜Spiritual draftsmenā€™ may be skilled at drafting plans; but in the process, have they considered the impact of the outside forces which cause so much stress?
We must find a way to repair the incompatible views we share to save ourselves from a monumental collision.

Itā€™s always a pleasure to read your work.

Damnation\'s Buffet
L. B. Mek said:

just know, I favourited for the title - alone
(indeed - sadly, wise Poet
celebrating all the things I lack, to affirm
that ego thwarting, anchor
I cherish most: as my fortitude of humility)
an important message/lesson, Kurt
thank you

Breaking Free
L. B. Mek said:

\'the pitfalls deep and mighty
Hunted for the threat I pose\'..
and that\'s the very, few
who dare to acknowledge the power
contained
in each fibre, of the freedom they breathe
with purposed: Intent!
(if you\'re not part of the majority, ignorant Herd
prepare for the wolves
to track your every move
for your spark of defiance
fast translates into their callous joy: of the Hunt)..
a thought provoking read, dear poet
so many meaningful observations
worded eloquently: relatable

The Darker Side Of Camelot
L. B. Mek said:

\'A monarchy of lost regret,
in angerā€™s shame he crumbles

Trapped inside a broken dream\'..
yeah, I too agree - that
supposedly heroic tale, (whichever version)
has a lot of egotistically - warped
bad decision making, staining its plot
and its portrayal of love, from
all three key characters
reaks: of selfishness and greed...
(a wonderful read, thanks for sharing Kurt)

\'A portal indentured\'
yeah, that\'s a line I gravitate towards
that thread of feigned opportunity
\'They\' - float, invitingly
just out of reach, knowing
by the timing you arrive
you\'re so black n blue, even
your memories are curtained, blind
in an endless night: of futile regret...
(another write that had me tracing prickly scars
now long repressed
and for the most part: blissfully - forgotten...)
we must shed, to find strength - enough
to take, that most important: next step!
(thanks for sharing, dear Poet)
