Shadows In The Night (+3)

Brilliant!
firstly thanks for bringing \'virulent\' to my lacking database, such a flexible word, a diamond of a gift for a wannabe scribbler like me..
and \'some things don\'t need explaining\' is for me, nostalgia: in a poem
and a treasure of a read, one - I shall revisit time n again

\'Fortune concealing veins of discovery
long covered and unknown
Ink running free as the shaft leads inward
—anticipation karat pure\'..
a wonderful read, flowing effortlessly
though not only from line to line but synergistically, from poem to poem
\'karat pure\', indeed

Tomorrow\'s Masquerade
L. B. Mek said:

\'Mirages fade with pretense lost,
things never what they seem

A future darkness redefined,
the past still yet to know\'..
\'we are not! our mirage of despairing thoughts
we are: those thought\'s, we act upon
for when we act, we but give choice a voice
but if we rush - to act, we need not have began
for who are we but our misunderstandings, overcome...\'
your words have inspired some of the better lines I have penned recently, and I for one am so grateful that you continue to share dear poet,

\'It stands in the desert
alone and unbowed,
to flower in protest
—its nature avowed\'..
I just cherish you love of words, by pointedly choosing \'avow\'
you gift us readers so much opportunity for interpretation
and ultimately, what greater gift can a Poet: ink

yeah, I too am not so sure about that whole \'I think, therefore...\'
a flawed or incomplete concept, at best
\'I speak\' has a much greater sense of self-empowering accountability
for who are we
but those words
we choose: to voice
or ink in verse..
yet another thought provoking write dear Poet

I\'ll lean on the genius of Gertrude Stein to express my reaction to your write today, since my words fail me,
(for context, I\'m referring to modernity\'s gradual disenchantment with the \'supposedly\' archaic principals of betrothal):
\' The cannot.
A note.
They cannot
A float.
They cannot.
They dote.
They cannot.
They as denote.
Miracles play.
Play fairly.
Play fairly well.
A well.
As well.
As or as presently.
Let me recite what history teaches. History teaches.\'

distilled so acutely, by a Poet
who champions Veracity..
Brilliant!

\'Taking stock while looking back
through scarlet colored glass
the vision false, the judgment worse
its memory to outlast
Forming all opinion
by what is wrapped or clad
deception in the present sense
the view less good than bad
Stepping back while looking in
my eyes take off their shield
to see much deeper than before
—my prejudice to yield\'..
insightful lines of surgical commentary, inked so depressingly \'matter of fact\'..
kinda crazy, modernity\'s addiction to blind-progression
\'in the minute we take
to reflect and collect
our thought\'s:
they\'ve gone and moved their goalpost\'s, offside
yet again...\'

Hi Kurt, re Et Tu Democracy: So well written (as usual). Is this just a poem, or how you feel, or a tongue in cheek message to the democrats?

L. B. Mek said:

heartachingly breath-taking, such a harrowing read dear poet..
a juxtaposition of ideal\'s:
of fervent youth embracing all, not knowing there\'s better to hope for..
and adulthood\'s depressingly cynical stranglehold
of all that good we harbour within,
in this bleak reality of circumstanced consequence to the narrow possibilities within what remnant hope: we have left, in our lives..
whether fictitious or biographical, a brave write of insightful cogitation when lost within clouds of reverie\'s meditation

\'Twin parallel universes
push and then pull

Existing in quantum,
the vacuum is full

Symbiotic in concept,
his razor now sharp

As we search for their meaning
—ever lost in the dark\'..
how well I relate,
this curse called opinion that corrupts and inflames, ensues every widening tethers to unity\'s dreams..
your write was a mirror to my thoughts this past week, what a shameful realisation this read has been for me..
what words of guiding wisdom you choose to share dear poet, I will meditate over this personal holes your words shone light upon.. humbly, I thank you

Blurring The Lines (+3)
L. B. Mek said:

\'The Mousetrap Revisited

Entrapping the magic,
philosophers moan

Theory after theory,
no meat on the bone

They label and mark,
their didactics retooled

Force feeding their ramble
to dilettante-fools

And when in the end
they are then proven wrong

They slink back to their hollows,
where the vanquished now throng

But a new tier of ‘masters’
has taken their place

To lecture and spiel
—and pontificate\'..
just wanted to highlight this great write,
stand-alone: one of your very best in my humble opinion..
I have never understood why great mind\'s needed to differentiate their theory\'s from the predecessors they clearly took inspiration from..
so our generation hates philosophy but worships the nuclear goodness of science,
next generation will probably will try the opposite I guess, and on and on the cycle will continue until we find that \'ambrosia\' solution to life, lol

The Link (+3)
Kurt Philip Behm said:

Thanks LB. I try to take a step back and look at the total
effect technology has had on modern society. If you ask
are we happier or better off, or even smarter (do we write
better poetry) than 100-200 years ago, I think the answer
is no.

Orwell and Huxley I fear are being proven right.

Thanks as always for reading and the insightful commenting.

\'Is humanity destined
to merely plug in

Will all beauty and truth
be a programmer’s whim\'..
a great write! I really appreciate your timely subject matter\'s dear poet, but
while fearing the seemingly inevitable future
of binary infused - thought,
are we bypassing
the \'programming of mind\'s\'
that\'s been cultivated so successfully, already?
how else to reason
our society\'s need to continually exist
within bite-sized reality realms
of \'base\' awareness
