Cheeky Missy said:

The carrot before the ass, hung just out of reach to keep him chasing forever what he never could attain. And yet we were born to run, but not in vain. Ergo the question begs the answer which is not so elusive as we like to claim. Beautifully rendered with a delightfully haunting poignancy and superb imagery.

A wonderful expression of the yearning we all have for things of no value. Time is so short and we look for what is not. Is it any wonder that we never find it? A wonderful poem

And yet there was nothing I could do.
L. B. Mek said:

how well you\'ve worded
that feeling of inadequacy, in the face: of fated certainty...!
still, if you\'re penning these poignant reminiscing\'s
then you\'re the survivor: entrusted
to share and enlighten, engaging and encouraging
whispering that message, so few have learnt to heed!
that our breath is fleeting
blinking - is a past event, waiting
and life, is the now: in all that we have left
to partake - in...
thanks for sharing, dear poet

And yet there was nothing I could do.
Doggerel Dave said:

Precisely.
Captures in very real terms the wait, the turmoil and impotence attending the loss in such a close relationship, with also due focus on the terminally ill sufferer.
I cannot like this work – it bought too much to the surface for me.
It is, however powerful and accurate from my perspective – so thanks.

For the disaffected
Nicholas Browning said:

Always remember that your humanity isn\'t intertwined with everyone else\'s. If you hold within yourself the willpower and dedication, you will never be corrupted by the way this world turns. You might become a little numb though. Small price to pay if ya\' ask me.

\"Love is all we have\" ... \"Everything we need to know of heaven\" ... sums it up beautifully! What else need be said? Fine poem, Emile.

Great poem! I think we get a little slice of heaven when we experience true love. Like you say in your last two lines. Finally, \"everything that is pure\". Awesome.

What if I told you?
Nicholas Browning said:

This is very true. I think about these things every day. I personally believe most of this to be the truth. It\'s all an idiot\'s parade, and we\'re the jugglers. Wonderfully done. Keep it up.

Tremendously written and candidly honest .. yes we must all awaken from this stupor and open our eyes .. the truth is there ..

The survivors
Fay Slimm. said:

Loud applause for this rant against contamination of misguided thinking on soul. Must quote that final enlightening line as truth wrapped in poetic expression - \"To exist as a survivor without a connection with soul
Is to be a victim of all\" - - Wisdom indeed. Do keep sharing these thoughts.
