HI AZURA ~ MUMS by definition are always one generation removed and my MUM is very protective of her daughter ~ my Sister ~ and also of Me even though I have flown the nest. She grew up in the 60\'s & 70\'s and does not use a COMPUTER (My Dad does !) so she can\'t understand the WWW and how we can be exposed to the whole gamut of 21st C Culture and Morals at the touch of a button ! Mine ~ when he speaks ~ speaks Chinese ! Unfortunately He took over once when i was in an interview ! Fortunately one of the Interviewers was Chinese and we had quite a conversation much to th amusement of the others ~ However I didn\'t get the job ~ C\'est la vie ! HUGS ~ BRIAN My MOONSTER\'S name WI MEE MO He came in handy when I visited SHANGHAI ~ I don\'t know what WI ordered in the Waterfront Cafe but it was delicious and I lived to tell the tale. Because we all live on Planet Earth in the Solar System ~ A YEAR denotes our Annual Rotation round the SUN ~ which also (for those of us in the UK & USA) fixes our FOUR SEASONS. For convenience of record (and people who print NEWSPAPERS !) we divide the Year into 12 almost equal MONTHS ~ So SIX MONTHS (Half a Year) is a recognised finite period of time ~ and a lot can happen (and often does) in SIX MONTHS !
As you suggest we all view TIME (and the passage of TIME) differently depending on our Age and Position in Society ! Peasants still live and work by the Seasons and Nobles (Tempus Fugit !) by Fashion & Passion !
I\'m 33 (one third into my life expectancy of 99 !) so time goes faster for me than my Parents (60) and even slower for my one remaining Grandparent (90) and for my Teen Students ~ faster than for me ! My advice to everyone ~ irrespective of AGE is CARPE DIEM ~ AMEN
