What Is Wisdom?
dusk arising said:

Wisdom is life\'s teaching for those who become wise enough to learn.

Confusious he say \'great men are seen before many, wise men are seldom seen\'.

Dare I say, wonderful words of wisdom? Yes. You have once again hit the proverbial nail on the head. Great write my friend!

What Is Wisdom?
orchidee said:

Yep, true. People have knowledge that I can sing (supposedly), so they have wisdom not to experience it! They run away, or banish me to the hills. heehee.

Ruined By Heat.
Bella Shepard said:

This is so relatable. I went through a very hot summer in the last few months of pregnancy with my first child, and no air conditioning. I remember getting up in the middle of the night and going out on the front porch to catch a breeze and be able to breath. Nature can be kind. I don\'t know though if I should thank you for reminding me. lol

Me and you both mate. I have reversed my days/nights many times just to enjoy the cooler downstairs temperatures and snooze in the arid daytime bed.

Accidental Poet said:

I too have been awakened early, but not because of the heart. My Muse was restless and needed my company. Well penned my poet friend.

Life\'s Library.
Doggerel Dave said:

That’s it - get it out there before I go;
So I argue - someone else needs to know.
There is no good keeping it to my self,
Sustain knowledge out there, not on the shelf.

Good for you, Andy - keep up the good work.

Life\'s Library.
L. B. Mek said:

ohhhh, I like that image
\'the library that has become us\'
yes, indeed
destined to take it all with us
(unless we scribble it down, that is
and share it
with a handful or two, maybe then
those coming after us, can inherit
and heed our warnings
so they may steer clear
of those mistakes, we stubbornly
made...)
lol
wise words Andy, a lovely read
thank you! cherished Poet

Strange Sight.
Bella Shepard said:

This I love! Where better to enjoy turning the pages of a book than in the beauty of nature. Kudos to that young man, and to you my friend for capturing it in this lovely poem.

MendedFences27 said:

It\'s a wonder you lived through that experience. Shocking! A young one actually reading....a book.
A clever presentation by you of the whole affair. Found it most amusing. - Phil A.

orchidee said:

Phew, an actual book! I saw that strange sight too.
I asked a shop if they had video tapes. They gave a me a look of \'Erm, no, not got any; we weren\'t around in the time of the dinosaurs, as you were\'. Though rather a snooty store.

You have spoken the truest words, my friend. When you\'ve found that faith inside yourself, you\'ve found the true you, and that\'s a beautiful thing.

And I Was Free.
Doggerel Dave said:

‘We’re here because we’re here’ Is all we can truly know.
The rest belief; buy if it suits you - give it a bow.
If you have peace of mind then that’s good enough for you,
But regrettably this is one meal I cannot chew.

Keep well anyway, Andy.

And I Was Free.
L. B. Mek said:

there you go Andy
you\'ve gone
and inspired me to waffle-on
yet again, forgive me;
what a sincere write
and a most perfect
musical accompaniment
thank you! dear Poet
(there is a line from a poem
I have yet to share, it goes:
\'for naked, I am clothed\'...
It is strange, my cherished friend
how
we grandiosely immortalise, some
aspects of our lives
and marginalise as common, others
for example
who\'s to say, we can\'t make a religion
formed of those who walk through life with us
daily
those, who care for us and always
seem to have
a fee minutes free, to share a beer
or two
on a rainy day
those, who bring smiles and chuckles
into our lives
we may call them family or friends
and \'they\'
may be just that one person
who fills our heart to bursting;
but, aren\'t they
the cornerstones of our daily lives
those, very
churches and avenues to hope and faith
in our fellow, fallible humans
affording us a semblance of meaning
in this absurd, existence - thing..
why not make, mutual
kindness, Love and affection
our deities
and our closest loved ones
our saints
and we\'ll just worship them
as best we can
and call that, our belief system...)
\'and have free car parking in the town.\'
🤣

And I Was Free.
orchidee said:

I expect you find church more than a social club, which it can be for some people.
I don\'t know - maybe it\'s \'religion\' you are turning from, not Christianity. Though Christianity is one religion!
One hymn has \'My chains fell off, my heart was free\' but that\'s about finding Christianity / religion / spirituality, whatever we may call it.

That arrow I shot into the air many years ago has finally reached the target I didn\'t even know I was shooting at. Retirement. Thanks for the wonderful metaphor, Andy. 😉

Goldie And Orchi At Hastings.
Doggerel Dave said:

And there are unplumbed depths to be found here -
Orchi , Goldfinch drinking sherry and scotch.
A member of CAMRA, I’d prefer beer,
That would have taken Hastings up a notch.

(CAMRA stands for Campaign For Real Ale – I was a very early member)

Good one, Andy.
