The famous Earthrise photo gave us a view of earth never before seen, our earth hanging in space, home to all humanity. We realized the need to protect it. I think that was worth a trip to the moon. I stand outside each night and say goodnight to the moon, helps me keep the perspective of my place in the universe. Thank you for this lovely tribute and the song, it just couldn\'t be better.

Ignore the poor – leave them behind.
Forget all this Andy – enjoy your romantic view of the moon, but make no mistake, governments and wealthy individuals will continue to pour money into space exploration, while ignoring so many needs here on earth. Your moon will not be/has not been for some time a pristine environment.
