The C Word.
Doggerel Dave said:

This is a cheeky one in no mistake -
The ‘C word’ here is not its common use;
O charming Cunt - no misuse can I make,
Not used by me as a term of abuse.

The C Word.

Or the X word - Xmas. Some only use it as they say it saves 2 seconds, rather than writing out \'Christmas\'. But to say \'Merrie\' is just silly, I think!
Btu the \'Church Year\' can include \'9 Sundays before Christmas\' - usually end of October. Then 8,7,6, etc. Arrggh!

CH word would also do! The excitement is still there and the wonderment now shared with the wanderment of many from such a beautiful time of year. Now it\'s diluted, washed down, rebranded, and divorced from something that wasn\'t broken to begin with. Some woke on the wrong side of the global bed.

Bach Spoiled.

Oh dear, I had to search for the harpsichord variant and must say I have heard those before. As well as (perhaps rarer) on the guitar. Sir Thomas Beecham is possessed of a sharp witted tongue. Thanks Andy.

Bach Spoiled.
Doggerel Dave said:

The whole not greater than the sum of its parts, then?

I am a musical ignoramus,
Though I still appreciate what I hear;
I hope if we listen you can help us
Find more examples we can revere.

Go Andy, Go...

PS: Loved some of the imagery - a little grouchiness sometimes can go a long way 🙂

This is so touching dear friend. He seems to have qualities at a young age that will take him far. So glad you gave him his due.

A wonderful story. To me a handshake is a sign of respect. I knew a man that on a handshake lost close to a million dollars, no signed contract, no witnesses just his word. That respect for oneself, and others is what a handshake means to me. Wonderful write.

this, that distinction
between those who are gifted
biological mum\'s and dad\'s
and true \'Parents\'!
(reminds me of the saying:
\'takes a village to raise a child\')
a wonderful read, Andy
glad to know, not all is lost
yet

….So my parents taught me to say ‘Thank You’;
This stood me in good stead over the years.
Modified, casualised it remains true -
Sometimes apposite is a simple ‘Cheers’.

Lovely and good going there Andy. I had a student once by the name of Ryan. He was the politest child you ever did sea. He was always in the naughty corner but he had manners to match his innate cheek. He will go far in life.

Live In Peace.
Bella Shepard said:

I sometimes wonder; if we could bring peace into our own lives, might we be able to make peace with others? Perhaps in a far distant future when we are truly civilized. Quite a thought provoking and applicable poem my friend.

Live In Peace.
Doggerel Dave said:

Statements are nowhere near enough -
Answers assiduously sought
Should be, although extremely tough,
Crucial, or the result is naught.

Take it from there, please Andy....

You write beautifully of something unseen, but ever present. It\'s power can strike fear, inspire, or draw your attention to something you simply take for granted. Your personification of wind is truly incredible, thank you for this remarkable piece.

The personification of the wind
I like more than anthropomorphism,
Which inflicts creatures with a human mind
When animals might well prefer a schism.

Brings the mind to wind and butterflies and later on the music and radio waves, mobile signals even. Like the ozone surrounding us and that distinct smell of petrichor when the weather is rain ripe. But that\'s just me :-)
