Like it a lot, Lizzy!
And the only way to find out if these arms are open wide, is to return!

This lovely poem reminds me of my rose garden in St.Eustache. For the last 30 years though, living in Hawaii, I have not experienced any winter anymore.
Merci beaucoup, ton poem est tres tres bon.

A beautiful poem, Lizzy. It starts so nice, all happy.....and then the unexpected rough time, but finishing on a positive note again.

Really enjoyed this :) I sometimes instinctively risk my own life by swerving out of the way of an animal trying to cross the road! We are all equal on the this earth, whether it was a gods doing or not I do not know.

Flowers and BIRDS are both very pretty and are often compared in simile ? But to say an Open Rose is more Beautiful than a Wren is true but new to me ! Thanks for caring and sharing a perfect STRUCTURE (rhyming couplets) and a perfect SUBJECT ! Two more lines and it would be a Sonnet ! Yours BRIAN (UK)

HI LIZZY ~ Welcome back ~ Love SNOW ~ Love the Poem ~ Love You too ! Canada has a monopoly on Snow ! Where I live in South England and last year we had zero snowfall ! I have been in NEW YORK in December and we had lots of Snow ! A Friend mine met a Girl on line and fell in Love ~ He then realised she lived in WINNIPEG ! After they got married he had to live there for a YEAR to get a work permit He survived the WINTER ! Your lovely POEM describes all the Joys of Snow and the sadness (of Kids) when it melts. Very unusual Lizzy. I used to get weird dreams when having a slice of pepperoni pizza before bed. Needless to say, I do not do that any more :)

Don\'t choose darkness
It will only lose (or eventually)
Follow the way of light
And it always peruse.

A true and fine write! Oh, but it\'s wise to ALWAYS choose light over darkness, I think - as you have done.
Also, my view is - we can\'t save ourselves. It\'s like two people crossing a broken bridge. One got 50% across it, the other 99%. But they both fell in the river!
Great faith for you age too!

BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Ohhhhhhhhhh LIZZY ~ Thanks for another BEAUTIFUL POEM ~ I love rainbows ~ Pictures & Poems ! YES The Rainbow is GOD\'s promise that never again will he destroy the World by flood ~ however hard it rains ~ don\'t worry. You will have learned in School that the raindrops act as prisms and split the sunlight into a SPECTRUM SEVEN COLOURS ~ R-O-Y-G-B-I-V which produces our rainbow ! HI LIZZIE ~ Thanks for another lovely Poem ! I too love the sea and it always stirs my MUSE and makes me want to paint ! We are lucky in the UK which is a small island and we are never more than 70 miles from the Coast ! I know in Canada you can be many hundreds of miles from the Sea but you also have hundreds of awesome Lakes ! Hugs ~ BRIAN The area of Canada is 40 times greater than that of the UK !

Michael Edwards said:

A difficult one as I never intentionally or knowingly kill any life form except garden pests when I spray the plants in the garden and set traps for slugs and snails. Beyond that I agree with the sentiments in your great poem.

Ode to an Ant
swingline said:

All life is sacred , those who take life for granted live to reget it . As all life was endowed with the breath of life from God we should not be so flippant with his creations . Not even a sparrow falls that God is not aware . God gave mankind dominion over all creatures of the Earth . But he never gave permission to abuse .

Ode to an Ant
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

GOD loves Ants and all living things including insects ! In the BIBLE He says \"Look at the Ant you sluggards ~ consider her Ways and be wise.\" God loves Ants and cites them as an example of diligent workers. We should protect them and not stamp on them !
