Recipe For A Poem

A very perceptive look at what makes a good poem Jane and one to which all serious poets can relate - - I love the suggestion of simmering all in the pot before writing. The penultimate stanza has to be my personal favourite. Great read.

Are there poets without pain in their soul? I think everyone has their tears, but, I for one, am glad that not all poetry is dark and gloomy. So much more fun when there is a variety of poetry covering all the human conditions. I thought about this very thing when I was writing this poem. And personally, I do, much more, prefer lighthearted poetry. Thank you for reading my poem and commenting.

A clever idea carried off with polish and panache. Are there poets without pain in their soul?
Pain and hurt seems to be a great motivator for us poets doesn\'t it.
But oh what sweet release is this therapeutic poetic outlet... i don\'t think i\'d survive without it. How about you.

You Never Knew Your Name
Jane Frye said:

Thank you, but I need to clarify. I wrote this for a friend who lost her baby unexpectedly an hour after she was born. It was devastating and affected family and friends, but left both parents besides themselves with grief.

My Favorite Color

WELCOME JANE ~ Thanks you for a perfect first poem ! R O Y G B I V ~ As you say ~ each color of the Rainbow (and the millions of shades in between) is very precious to us at different times in the day ! When GOD designed the Human Eye he gave us not only 3D vision but the ability not only to distinguish between \"40 Shades of Green\" when we visit Ireland ~ but many many shades of every color ! This enables us to appreciate each other and the clothes we wear but also all the colors of the natural World ! Thanks for sharing & caring ~ Yours BRIAN (UK) Please check my poems ~ many are \"color coded\" ! Thanks B
