Hi StephanieAnn. I remember reading and tagging this a favourite a while back. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to comment. It was a hard read for me. I’ve never been a hard addict. I smoke weed. But I’ve seen so many of my friends go down that road of hard drugs never to return. My sister and brother in-law had a ten year run down it. Thank goodness they turned around and came back. They’ve been clean for over 20 years now. I hope this only adds fuel to your strength.I apologize for not commenting sooner. Stay strong🌟🌹🌞🕊

Church Bells

There\'s a little church about a mile from my house that rings the hours from 8 am to 8 pm (they stop overnight). I am not religious but I have very similar feelings to what you expressed here every time I notice the bells. Welcome back. Hope you are feeling well.

Far from being a believer in what goes on within a church I find many aspects of our churches fascinating. Those bells certainly are fascinating and can be rejuvenating.

Stephanie, so self-aware and positive to come out and share your Bump story. You may feel like a mess but you also have your act together as far as understanding yourself, your ability to articulate it to others, and a strong spirit. We adore you you know. Anyone who won\'t let themselves become a hypocrite is admirable and on the road to wisdom. Lead on...

Thanks for your honest poem. And everyone is allowed a lapse on your journey. The important thing to do is never give up

Good solid write there, Stephanie, good solid sound advice.
I hope you don\'t mind the old light bulb joke (you\'ve probably heard it):
How many psychiatrists/psychologists/social workers etc does it take to change a light bulb? Answer: One - but the light bulb has got to want to change.

Your poems are ABOUT things. I like that! You bring Orchard Street to life, so to speak. What irony, such a beautiful name for a flawed place. Take care and know you have friends!

You have a delightful, playful bounce to your verses, and you weave your own experience into the texture so honestly. This piece made me laugh and cry. I have a disabled son (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) who could walk poorly as a toddler and now his legs don\'t work at all. Legs folded under you like a crow\'s tail... such a powerful image. You go girl.

As SC has said crows are most intelligent birds and if in there lives they are given kindness they will always repay it.

Not being biased in any way shape or form but crows are very cool, highly intelligent, highly social. They have many spiritual and magical meanings. They remember.

Its good be like crow.

I like your poem, it strikes me as melancholic

That is one easy to read poem which flows nicely, Steph.
Sounds like it should be in Baltimore. But it’s not; probably in Alabama as far as I can tell…. Anyway, thanks for the heads up – I won’t be coming your way in a hurry….
Ah, look – sorry. Some situations are so awful that the only way to get round them is with some dark humour.
But what is to be done? Hopes and prayers don’t seem to hack it, do they? Nor do movements (are there any?) to ban guns and give those violent characters the opportunity for an education and opportunities.
Your only recourse is to put your work out there with some constructive suggestions as widely as possible, and…………………………Good luck!
