friends with a ghost
L. B. Mek said:
so deflating, when we lose a close friend
but unlike lover\'s, friends
have a way of coming around in our lives
so the story may not be over, forever
still, i\'m sorry for your hurt
stay strong! dear poet

If you come out of that experience with insight, it was valuable because you\'ve made it. Take care and good luck.

where our words, reach limits
to explain the suffering
we\'re forced, to endure in life
its a sign, that maybe
we\'re not meant to know
all the reasoning
behind this chaotic existence,
but what we can learn
is to appreciate
everything else, that hasn\'t
been taken from us
and look around, at those
all around
who look upon, us
as the lucky ones...
(I\'m so sorry for your tragic loss
dear poet
there\'s never any sense
to the senselessness
in illness, that takes away
our loved ones..
may your father rest in peace)
and I\'m sorry if my words
seem insensitive, in any way
I was just trying to offer
a small avenue for hope
in what must be, such
a mind-numbingly, bleak day
for you

Heartwrenching story. It is a struggle to find the meaning in such situations. You have captured that in your piece very well

So much more L. Thousands upon thousands of things, big and small, go into making us who we are and those things are constantly changing. You\'re important and you matter. Hang in there and please keep writing. You\'re so very talented🙂

this: is awesome...!
surreal, in its distilled simplicity
and yet
majestically profound

we dare not attempt: to comprehend..

I\'d vote for nothing at all (ever since age approx 14).You can believe - yes (as you can believe in Santa or the tooth fairy) but you cannot know. For those who must believe, let them if it gives them a happy life.
Keep enquiring - think infinite time, infinite space; do not become lost (can be a dangerous trip if you stay there too long).
Good rational progression from you wrapped in fine poetic form.
Take care of yourself.

I see it as be-living. I\'ve spelt \'believing\' wrong here, I know.
I feel we need to believe in something, someone even - a God.
I don\'t believe in reincarnation, or spooky stuff like that though.

This is an excellent piece of poetry. It displays what I have taken to heart, that poetry it\'s self is like a therapy. You can write yourself out of a bad place and it looks like you\'ve done just that and in this piece you briefly look back along your path.
I\'m an old man now and have seen a lot of changes, coincidentally today I post something i wrote about a low period in my early life.
What doesn\'t kill you, makes you stronger.

I disagree with your final line. You\'ve got a life, and a good head. You\'re working your way through lifes hurdles at a young age.... formative years...... you will eventually become self aware and able to love that which you are.
Think butterflys. They dont start out beautiful... and you are on your way.
The way you write has you on the right path without a doubt.... more please.

Thank you lonelyraccon for “using your words” to write such a beautiful and moving piece. I am privileged to come across the rare piece where one writes from the lovely interior most place of their heart. What can one do with such pain? The deep stabbing pain of depression? Rejection? Isolation? I know of only one remedy: Write and share. Your pain is my pain and trust me, I wont let it go to waste. Solidarity dear one with the One whom suffered like no other.
