I\'d vote for nothing at all (ever since age approx 14).You can believe - yes (as you can believe in Santa or the tooth fairy) but you cannot know. For those who must believe, let them if it gives them a happy life.
Keep enquiring - think infinite time, infinite space; do not become lost (can be a dangerous trip if you stay there too long).
Good rational progression from you wrapped in fine poetic form.
Take care of yourself.

I see it as be-living. I\'ve spelt \'believing\' wrong here, I know.
I feel we need to believe in something, someone even - a God.
I don\'t believe in reincarnation, or spooky stuff like that though.

Just For You

A poem about love is nothing new... But what you\'ve done here, a poem about self love, now that\'s refreshing! I like it! Great work!

Until I did

This is an excellent piece of poetry. It displays what I have taken to heart, that poetry it\'s self is like a therapy. You can write yourself out of a bad place and it looks like you\'ve done just that and in this piece you briefly look back along your path.
I\'m an old man now and have seen a lot of changes, coincidentally today I post something i wrote about a low period in my early life.

What doesn\'t kill you, makes you stronger.

We should always look ahead in our lives, the passed has given us the experience to be where we are today.

Sterilite Tubs and Reflections

I disagree with your final line. You\'ve got a life, and a good head. You\'re working your way through lifes hurdles at a young age.... formative years...... you will eventually become self aware and able to love that which you are.

Think butterflys. They dont start out beautiful... and you are on your way.

The way you write has you on the right path without a doubt.... more please.

Thank you lonelyraccon for “using your words” to write such a beautiful and moving piece. I am privileged to come across the rare piece where one writes from the lovely interior most place of their heart. What can one do with such pain? The deep stabbing pain of depression? Rejection? Isolation? I know of only one remedy: Write and share. Your pain is my pain and trust me, I wont let it go to waste. Solidarity dear one with the One whom suffered like no other.

Hope you feel better after that. I see you have only read 4 other peoples poems on here and never commented on any (info on your profile page). You will attract more comment/interest from other poets if you read and comment on others work. That\'s how this site works best.

Hungry for Answers

Wow this was breathtaking. I ran away from my dysfunctional family at 14, I remember this unanswerable feeling and I soon got lost in hip hop and disappeared for a few years.
It\'s not easy to stay level headed but I promise everything will work out in the end. Even smoother with a pen and words expressed like this, never forget you\'re wonderful gift.

We are all poets
Waiting to know it
Much peace and respect

Questions we all ask at one time or another and put into poetic lines such as this after a health scare would make time more vital - -- writing it out will help and hoping soon the obsession will lessen - a moving read.

What’s Reality?
Nicholas Browning said:

Well, in personal experience I\'ve been knocked out at school, and arrested at school. When I was in the 1st or 2nd grade, a tall guy who was a couple years older than me jumped off a playground tower and landed on my head. He didn\'t see me, so it wasn\'t his fault. It just happened. When I woke up, the whole school was there. Just staring at me. The ambulance was there, and so were my parents. They put me in a stretcher and sent me away. I don\'t really remember it as a bad memory though. It\'s just something that happened.
Another thing, when I was in highschool I was arrested for assault and battery. I slapped, and pushed, a guy who was bullying someone that I thought was my friend. That \"friend\" of mine didn\'t back up my story. So, I got arrested for being the bully. Walked out in front of the whole school in handcuffs. That was a tad bit embarrassing. I laughed it off though. Didn\'t get into any trouble really.
So, I guess the only advice to give you is to laugh it off. Screw what other people say. Can\'t let a million voices get you down when there\'s only one that matters.
Best regards.

Side Effects Of Peace
Jo March said:

It\'s a wonderful poem. I really enjoyed it. I think that it\'s sort of natural for us to be confused by peace. We are used to worrying about events in our lives. We are used to trying to control every aspect of our reality. Peace doesn\'t seem natural to us. We are used to our busy lives with all the anxiety that accompanies them. At the same time, we long for peace. The irony seems to be that when we finally get the peace, we realize that perhaps that\'s not we want after all. We want the chaos at the same time... Oh the irony of life! Thank you so much for the poem.

Side Effects Of Peace
Nicholas Browning said:

I\'ve said it before and I\'ll say it again! There is only meaning in life if you give it meaning. What life means to you is unique, and it\'s what you do with that knowledge that defines everything else, I think. I enjoyed the read. I\'ve been in similar situations before, and you\'re absolutely right. No one has the answers you seek except for you. I noticed that you are new here, so let me extend a friendly welcome to the site! We hope to see you around some more. Best regards.
